Well I've been bleeding and cramping all weekend, I've lost a lot of blood, including tissue and clots. I'm pretty sure I've lost the baby. I've got a scan later today but I'm not hopeful. This was my first and not planned but so very much wanted. I'm just devastated {sad].

Very sorry to hear this, Dorcas. How far along were you?

ponyness · 29/03/2010 06:51

My heart goes out to you and am sending you the biggest hugs and have finger's crossed that maybe the scan won't show the worst.

But if it does show that you have lost the baby then you can get some fantastic support on the miscarriage forum. MN can of great support during a horrible time.

Will be thinking of you today.

dorcas111 · 29/03/2010 06:56

I would be six weeks and five days today.
Thank you for your messages and support. I can't believe I have gone from such joy to sorrow in such a short time. there is a part of me that is hoping the scan will be good news but I don't want to hope too much when the signs are so bad.

Very sorry to hear that, the same thing happened to me in January at exactly the same time. If it is any consolation because it was an early mc I think my body must have got back to normal very quickly; I got pg straight away and I am now 10 weeks pregnant (so body was better than normal - super fertile!). My doctor was also adamant that I stay positive til the scan - a lot of women have big bleeds and are fine. I knew though as I did not feel pregnant anymore. But you never know. Let us know how you get on.

Bumperlicious · 29/03/2010 10:58

So sorry to hear your news. How devastating.

Let us know how the scan goes.

gorgeousgirl · 29/03/2010 13:17

Oh poor you. I hope th scan goes well. I know it's no consolation, but you are supposed to be more fertile after a miscarriage, so hopefully you can get pregnant again ( this happened to my friend - she only 'lost' a couple of months.

(((((((big hug))))))

splatt · 29/03/2010 13:40

Same as domesticgoddess. Had a mc at 7+2 in December, sounds similar to you I'm sorry to say. But fell pregnant again with my next cycle and am now 11+5. Desperately awaiting my scan which is not til 13 weeks :-( as am soooo scared there will be a problem again.

I hope your scan is good news, but if not, take heart. The unfortunate fact is that 1 in 4 pregnancys end in miscarriage. People don't talk about it which I think is a real shame. I've openly told people about my misfortune and so many people have said "oh the same happened to me" I was really surprised, incidentally they all now have children. It's a shame people keep it a secret as it is nothing to be ashamed of.

dorcas111 · 29/03/2010 17:26

The scan confirmed that I have lost the baby.
I feel very empty and sad and scared that I will not get pregnant again. This wasn't planned but was very much wanted and for some reason the thought of TTC feels a bit scary, I suppose because I want it so much. At least I know now though, the waiting and uncertainty has been agony.

fotheringhay · 29/03/2010 18:13

Really sorry to hear that, you poor thing.

I'm another one who got pregnant straight away after a miscarriage. Best of luck to you. x

ponyness · 29/03/2010 19:50

I'm so so sorry and my heart goes out to you.

Sending you the biggest hugs xx

JamieJay · 29/03/2010 20:23

I'm so sorry dorcas111, try and take it very easy and allow yourself the time you need.

Lots of people do fall pregnant straight away after a mc but don't feel you have to rush. My first pregnancy ended in m/c at 6 weeks and I couldn't imagine ttc and took a break for a few months to allow myself time to recover.

I am now pregnant again and think waiting was the right thing for me but everyone is different so do what feels right for you.

(((Hugs)))

oldenglishspangles · 29/03/2010 20:39

So sorry for your loss dorcas111. The same (unexpected pregnancy and subsequent miscarriage at 6.5 weeks) happened to me, i can still remember how i felt lying on the sonographers table as she told me there was no baby. I cried for hours. That happened on 29th January 2001 and within 8 weeks I was pregnant again - and we werent even trying!
