Hi, im just over 33 weeks pregnant, second baby, got horrible big stretch marks when i was prengnat with ds under the bump (looks like they come out of my trousers) they have all come back up now but i noticed lastnight when rolling over that one was very painful and when i touched it there was a big lump on it as if it's infected somehow.
Has anyone else had this or know what to do about it? i do want to put something on it that will make it worse!
Hope someone can help!!!!

Erm could it be an insect bite or something that's coincidentally over a stretchmark?

I think you should phone your midwife, they must do weekend consults.

i don't think its a bite... not sure how it would have happened like that, plus it's all the way up the stretch mark, it's really inflamed!
I might give the midwfie a quick call and see what she says... i just feel silly bothering them when they probably have more important things to be worrying about!

I'm 39 weeks and I've had this for a couple of months now. I finally asked my midwife about it and she said that it is water retention (apparently very common before and after the birth). It has a technical name but I can't remember it but I'm pretty sure it has 'edema' in it. Sorry - baby brain has well and truly set in!

She suggested raising my feet when I'm sat down (if I'm on the sofa I should put my feet up on a dining room chair) to help ease it but this doesn't seem to have done much for me... Mind you, she did only tell me this on Thursday so maybe I just haven't given it enough time!

I really do sympathise though - it is really painful, particularly at night. This is my first pregnancy so I assumed it was normal - the stretch marks have not been kind to me...
