I have an alien lifeform in my insides!

Seriously I can't think about the fact that there is a seperate thinking lifeform swimming about Inside Of My Body Living off my lifeforce.

Especially when it gets really big and you can see it moving across your belly and the feet/elbows sticking out like it's going to explode out at any minute like something out of Aliens.

And then it finally crawls it's way out of your body.

I think I have watched too much scifi

There is a person living inside my body. I can't be the only one that finds it freakish and slightly disturbing.

Dp tends to look when I tell him. I think he thinks I'm crazy.

yip I know what you mean totally!

lal123 · 23/03/2010 19:40

and once its born its actually MADE OUT OF YOU!!!!!

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 23/03/2010 19:40

I feel like this sometimes - I try not to think about it too much as it can get really 'freaky'. DH couldn't touch my bump last time because of it, and he is this time but very infrequently and is definatly not intrested in feeling it kick. Not because we think it's alien like, just because there is a human being growing inside my belly

TheArmadillo · 23/03/2010 19:46

thank fuck I'm not the only one

lal - you're right that is also freakish. Bits of your body made another human - they stole bits of your body!

And when you see a proper newborn (as in minutes old) they don't suddenly become all human and baby looking like that on the way out - they are like in your belly. Just laying there, with hair 'n stuff. Inside you. I wonder if they get bored...

ellesabe · 23/03/2010 19:48

I had my forst freak-out about this last night when I saw some scan pictures of a lay's insides during week 40! And one involving a set of twins

TheArmadillo · 23/03/2010 19:54

I wonder if they think or what they think about or when they start thinking.

I mean is it just suddenly bright light and wham or is it 'ooh this is different, just yesterday I was saying to myself it's getting a bit uncomfortable in here'.

You are definitely not alone. I felt a bit like that from day one, enhanced when I first heard the new heartbeat... And the 13 wk scan where there was this thing wriggling around inside me that I couldn't feel...odd.

I still feel like it when I feel a movement, but I do like it as it is reassurring. She hasn't been particularly mobile the last day or so which worries me, but I'm told it is normal at 21 wks.

ellesabe · 23/03/2010 19:56

I also find it really weird seeing newborn babies and picturing them just a few minutes previously...INSIDE SOMEONE! Seems weird.

Bicnod · 23/03/2010 19:57

I always imagined DS to be some sort of little aquatic creature swimming around inside me.

Igglybuff · 23/03/2010 19:58

Mmm I only got freaked out once DS was born (and still do now). it's because I can put a face to the previous wriggles. At the time, it seemed natural and I wasn't bothered.

tiredfeet · 23/03/2010 22:20

yep totally! not all the time and I'm thrilled to be pregnant, but sometimes yes when I think about a little person growing inside me it just feels so odd. DH thought I was barking when I said this, but it is quite a strange thing when you think about it!

Valpollicella · 23/03/2010 22:26

When I knew after the 20 week scan that I was having a boy, my thought process would suddenly be disturbed by the fact that my body was busy growing a penis

pinemartina · 23/03/2010 22:58

LOL - fab thread love it !!!
I am expecting my 5th and love to freak/gross out dd1 age 14 with these kind of ideas. And if she is being moody and out of order I only need remind her of how she did the first bit of stretching to widen the path for the others and she soon stops.....

piprabbit · 23/03/2010 23:04

If you want to know what babies are thinking - check out these cartoons.

My Mum was given an Eggbert book when she was expecting me, so it's something I grew up with (probably explains some of my odd ideas about babies).

gaelicsheep · 23/03/2010 23:09

No, you're not weird. I'm 27 weeks and just getting to this point now. It's quite freaky really!

Valpollicella · 23/03/2010 23:21

It is weird (and wonderful, as I'm sure you know!) But still, well, weird sometimes

WillowM2B · 23/03/2010 23:28

I am 24 weeks and had a bit of a "OMG how weird is this" moment triggered by picking up my DD's Baby Annabel.

Baby Annabels are quite small and I looked at her, looked at my belly and just thought "how the hell does one of those fit in me?"

Also, at my stage there seems to be a lot of "rummaging" rather than solid kicks some of which I have felt around my rib area - I cant help but wonder what the devil my baby is up to, especially as I feel the same sensation seconds later around my groin area.
