Do you mean, for instance, you were 1 stone heavier at the end of the pregnancy or after the birth?

Just curious. Reading another thread I realised I never actually knew what this meant.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

If you are a celebrity you use the weight you were at the point of going into labour and then claim you lost 2 stone in 6 weeks when in fact 1.5 stone of that was baby, placenta, water etc

I always took it to mean what you were a couple of weeks after birth - a few days after you stop miraculously sweating out a pound of water each night

ToccataAndFudge · 22/03/2010 17:14

well as DS1 was only 7lb 5oz, then I think I can safely say I put on 5st...........that kind of includes pre/post labour

At the end of the pregnancy, just before giving birth, ie the most you weighed.

Giving birth takes pounds off you - it just doesn't look that way!

peppapighastakenovermylife · 22/03/2010 17:17

Yes - I lost 18 pounds with both births - must carry a lot of water...

ReneRusso · 22/03/2010 17:21

If I was saying it, I would be meaning before the birth, not after.

cinnamongreyhound · 22/03/2010 17:46

I would say before you give birth as well.

I was weighed at booking-in, as I went into labour (coincidentally), and at 6w post-natal. I had previously had eating disorder issues so don't usually have scales in the house.

My booking-in weight and 6w-check weight were identical.

I say I put 20kg on as that's the difference between the lightest and the heaviest.

cinnamongreyhound · 22/03/2010 20:31

I was 96Kg full term and 74Kg 2 weeks later so it does make a difference in some cases.

Chynah · 22/03/2010 21:36

I would say it was how much I'd put on from finding out I was pregnant til just before I gave birth.

preggersplayspop · 22/03/2010 21:42

I would say the amount before getting pregnant to just before giving birth.

Fel1x · 22/03/2010 21:44

Yes till just before giving birth
EG I have always been about 9st. I went up to 12st when pg with DS1, so I put on 3 stone (didnt all come back off but thats not the point lol)
