I am currently taking my Folic Acid like a good girl, but are there any other viamins that it is a good idea to take when pregnant?

You see all the Pregnacare and Sanatogen ones, but are they really necessary or are they just trying to get you to part with your cash. I eat fairly healthily normally - apart from the chocolate brownies and Cadburys Caramels - so what do you reckon?

Hey im now 8days overdue and iv been taken vitamins throughout my pregnancy, but i would no way pay the extortionate prices pregnacare and sanatogen ask for!!
Any supermarket will do there own brand of vitamens especially for pregnant woman, they are a hell of alot cheaper, no more than £3 for like a month supply and they do exactly the same things and the vitamins are the same as brands that charge £10 maybe more, i take mum and bump from sainsburys!

I just bought the pregnacare ones as I was a bit confused and saw they had folic acid in them. But when they run out I might look for the cheaper alternatives as they are quite pricey!

Hi daisy - I don't take prenatals because I take my own vitamins, as I always have - a good multi, lots of folic acid, B-complex, fish oil, calcium, Vit. C, and CoQ10. That's more than the prenatals have.

I haven't bothered this time round, partly due to hyperemesis and partly due to feeling that it is a waste of money anyway.
I have still managed to remain well (since hyperemesis went!) and my fbc has been tip top throughout.
