Pains

I've had some sharp random pains in my baby area (what else would you call that? Womb area???) and every pain is making me panic like mad.
It's not many but it's so scary. I'm 15 weeks and everything I've read says I may feel dull aches but these stop me in my tracks.
I also get them when I sneeze which are more painful.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had them and had a good pregnancy or if they would be worried or if they know what it might be?

Advice much appreciated thanks.

Hi waiting

I had very sharp pains around 15/16 weeks and they were ligament stretching pains, so nothing sinister (although very painful for a while). They were sharp stitch-like pains and got worse with exertion. The fact that they are worse when you sneeze makes me think that this is the most likely explanation.

Obviously if they become very bad, don't ease off at all when you are resting or you have any other symptoms then give your midwife a buzz, but if it is jsut the occassional sharp pain I personally wouldn't worry about it too much.

Pregnancy is full of aches and pains as you get further along - not usually a sign that there is anything to worry about (although I was very neurotic, so know how hard it is!)

It can be normal to have pain in pregnancy, it's mainly caused by the muscles stretching and loosening to allow for growth of the uterus as your baby grows inside. It should be checked if there's any bleeding or abnormal discharge though (odd colour/smelly)

Ah thanks guys am glad others had to too.
I've not had bleeding (not since December - no period is the best) so no worries there.

It's just you hear stories about stuff happening and it makes you worry about every little twinge.

To be honest, I think I sneeze weirdly too, which doesn't help.

But thanks so much it's made me feel loads better.
