Can anyone recommend a book for my 3yr old DTs to explain that they are going to be getting a brother or sister??

TIA

There's a book called 'There's a house inside my mummy' which I found v helpful with my 2 yr old ds. It's all in verse with nice pictures & really deals with pregnancy but at the end there is a picture of the family with the older brother and the new baby.
I used to say to ds, 'that's the big brother and that's the new baby.' One day I added, 'You're going to be a big brother soon.' I'll never forget the dawn of realisation crossing his face. I quickly added, 'It's a very important thing to be a big brother.' As I left him in his cot that night I heard him say, 'Big brov, very 'portant.' He is now very proud of his impending big brother status. Getting all the baby stuff out of the attic has helped him realise that a baby is on the way too.

We had 3 books, one of which was There's a House Inside my Mummy, which the DDs enjoyed (DD1 was 2 yo when DD2 was born, DD2 was 2.5 when DD3 was born).

We also had The Flip Flap Body Book, which has a chapter which explained a bit more of the biology of the baby. Mind you, DD2 particularly was more interested in the chapter on eating and pooing

We also had The New Baby, but DH hated it - found it twee and irritating.

You may also try Bia Gets a New Baby Brother. It deals more with what to expect after the baby is born. You can get it on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

Good Luck with the new baby!

Miffy's New Baby deals with the subject in a sweet and uncomplicated way.

Little Rabbit's New Baby (more rabbits!) is excellent for conveying the (mixed) feelings of an older sibling towards the new arrival(s). Illustrations are cute too. My 2 year old DD can't get enough of it.....
