Sick of feeling sick :(

So im 10+3 and i have been feeling constantly sick since 5 weeks...its constant and getting so bad that i cant sleep properly because the sickness is waking me up, so now not only sick but tired too just felt like a rant sorry....any1 else feel this way?

Yup, was like that myself.

I've used travel sickness bands, and on the whole, they've been pretty good. I also graze on cereal during the day, (I prefer bitesize shredded wheat, as no extra sugar in that one ) that can help too

Yep I'm there too. Also 10 weeks. I have found the "morning well" CD helps a bit. www.morningwell.co.uk.
But can't wear the wrist bands as they hurt too much!
Keep eating, even though it's the last thing you feel like! Whatever you think you will be able to stomach (unfortunately this seems to change from hour to hour!).
Last time round I had to go onto anti-nausea medication (cyclizine) at about 15 weeks which is brilliant although it makes you very tired.
It's crap isn't it.

Yeah, my bands are irritating, but hopefully I've only got a week or so to go before it'll start clearing up (I'm 13+6)

It's really crappy - am 10+5 and haven't found anything that helps at all, will get seriously vexed if it doesn't start to improve at 12 weeks!

I know exactly how you feel I am 16wks and felt sick from wk 5 til wk 14 all day long including waking at night was tired and grumpy and felt like poo!!! I was never actually sick and began to wish I got up, threw up and that was it.

It does get better and cant beleive I felt sooooo ill. I lost a stone and could onyl stomach bananas and mash!!

hope you start to feel better soon.

lemonade did help settle m stomach a bit.

try plain things like breadsticks and crackers
thats the only things that stay down with me and do take away the horrible acidy sicky feelingthat you wake up with.

its horrible being sick all the time isnt it but the midwife says its a good sign so try an thinkof that an it does help a bit

It's horrible isn't it? You poor thing. I felt crappy up until week 8 and then was sick everyday from week 9 to 14,then slowly got better.

Things that helped....only ever really eating what I fancied (strangely enough ready salted crisps, Big Macs and strawberry nesquik - though looking at that now, no wonder I felt sick ) Plus as grim as this sounds, eating things which wouldn't be too bad on the way back up (EEUURRGGHHH!!) I found ice cream is fine for this (told you it wasn't pleasant!)

It should get better. Yes there are an unfortunate few who have the sickness until late on in pregnancy, but it is far more likely to disappear by about week 18/19. If things are really becoming unbearable, you can go and see your GP, who can prescribe you something, but if you're anything like I was during pregnancy, I really didn't want to take anything at all. That said, if things are bad, you must see someone.

freeze pops are also good...

newbie - Thought I was the only one who craved nesquik. Very odd, as I hadn't had it since I was eight.

Katy86 - loads of people feel like this. It's totally grim, but you're not alone.

I like the advice on the Mumsnet Pregnancy page:

"My aunt recommended sitting on the bathroom floor wailing 'oh please, just let me die'. I felt more comforted by her telling me that than by all those who offered more conventional advice."

Things that help me (this time anyway) are:

• Putting Karvol on anything I'm wearing and on my pillow. The nice, fresh smell keeps nastier niffs away from my ultra-sensitive-pregnancy-nosethrils.

• Eating AT LEAST every two hours.

• Nibbling plain rice-cakes.

• Getting a cleaner, getting the shopping delivered and letting DS watch too much telly.

Seriously - hope you feel better soon.

Sympathy with the sickness, it is totally pants

1st pg it went away at 12 wks, this time round it eased up a bit at about 18wks but keeps coming back to haunt me. It's one of the biggest things I'm looking forward to on the birth day- not feeling sick and burpy anymore.

i was sick the whole way through and in labour.

I lived on complan (had to be made with ice cold skimmed milk) stemetil, cyclazine and buccastem, ryvita, special k bars ,ranatadine, cereal and later on i could manage a macdonalds. i was hospitilised twice for dehydration.

complan is good stuff.

the minute the placenta came out i felt INSTANTLY better.

x -after 20 weeks it just became a bizarre way of life trying to find something tasty to eat. threads like these were a life line!

Katy, I really feel for you.

If you're really badly sick so much so that you can't keep anything down including fluids, then you should go to see your GP who can prescribe some tablets to reduce the sickness.

I experienced this when I was pg with DD who is now 3wks old. Luckily, I wasn't kept awake by feelings of sickness, but I was sick for many many weeks, from week 6 to 23! I was still occasionally sick into the final trimester, and even had to vomit a few minutes after delivery! During pg, I felt like there was no end to the sickness and really down in the dumps. However, my midwife said there is good news in getting loads of morning sickness - it means the foetus is well established due to the presence of high levels of the pregnancy hormone HCG.

There is good news and you will get through it although it seems tough right now. Just take each day as it comes.

Thank you soooo much to all of you for all your help and advice I am going to try EVERYTHING you have all suggested. Mums net is a life saver as i was starting to get really down about it. Although my sympathies are with all of you who have gone through it or are going through it, it is nice to know im not the only one out there People have told me that sickness means a healthy baby so ill take some comfort from that
