Just went to the loo and saw my urine was a pinisk hue what looked like diluted blood..

PLease tell it's nothing sinister and most probably a urinary infection that will clear with antibiotics??!!

What should I do?
P.S I am 20 weeks today..

Speak to a midwife, call labour ward if you have to. Best to get things like this checked out but as you say probably a UTI.

First of all, are you sure you haven't eaten anything that may have tinged it pink? Beetroot is the classic example, but possibly some soluble pink things (ie my orange berocca may my pee glow brightly orange)!

If it is caused by an infection, it should be easily detected - they will give you precautionary antibiotics I imagine, being preggers. These are safe to use in pregnancy.

Get thee to the GP pronto! In fact, actually, if it's possible for you to get to an emergency, out of hours GP, I would maybe phone NHS Direct and see if you can get there tonight.

Do you feel like you have an infection - feverish, shaky, etc?

Don't feel feverish or anything.. Just feels like the baby is very low down and when I walk I almost waddle...

No beetroot Haggisfish :-(

Will contact NHSdirect...

Thanks Ladies..

Phone midwife/labour ward and arrange to get checked (and take a urine sample). Likely to be urine infection as they are quite common in preg, but at 20 weeks you need to be sure it isn't another cause and in the case of urine infection get started on treatment ASAP.

Thanks Ladies.. Went to a drop in centre and saw a doctor who said that there was blood, protein and alot of white bloody cells in my urine. So he has sent them off to the lab and in the meantime prescribed me antibiotics.
No blood this morning!
