varicose veins....

.... I am 23 weeks pregnant with dc3, and have just disvovered two enormous bulging veins on my left leg, and lots of red thread veins. It has completely freaked me out, my left leg aches a bit and feel quite tingly, but it seems to have happened overnight.

I am seeing the doctor tomorrow, but has anyone else had problems with veins in pregnancy? What things did you do to relieve them? how serious can they be? (I am a bit nervous of googling symptoms!)

It's not unusual considering the extra load you are carrying. I would mention it to your GP and they may suggest support stockings etc to help with the aching and prevent any pooling of the blood in your legs.

I am not a medical person, but in themselves they are not serious. It is just the vein bulging as your body is finding it difficult to get the blood back up from your legs. Worth mentioning to your GP though.
