Hi all,

Just wanted to get some other peoples experiences on morning sickness. I am 7+5 weeks and have had a few moments of nausea but nothing much else. I have done quite a bit of reading and most things say that MS normally kicks in about weeks 6 to 7. So do you think that the risk of me getting bad MS is over or that it may start at a later date for me?

thanks

I didn't have any MS with DS1, and gibbered constantly that it meant something was wrong. Was genuinely astonished to go for 12-week scan and see a real, live baby in there . Had a little MS with DS2 (occasional waves, from about 7 weeks, almost always in the evenings) but nothing much. Again, all fine. My mum said she had no MS with my brother or me.

Some women just don't. You're supposed to be grateful for it, but I appreciate how worrying it can be, especially when people are always banging on about how MS means it is a good, strong pregnancy - so what did that make mine, then - constantly teetering on the brink of doom

I don't know whether it can start in earnest later than 7 weeks - hopefully you will just be one of those lucky women (although, as above, you may not feel like it) who doesn't experience bad MS.

Sorry, just realised your post didn't mention that you were worried about lack of MS at all, and i have just gone off on one about it. Oops . Sorry. Hope I have not induced any such worries. Anyway, have no idea as to the answer, but very much hope that you are, indeed, out of the MS woods, and that you have a wonderful, healthy pregnancy.

In all of my 6 pgs i didnt get morning sickness. I might have gotten a little 'gaggy' over certain smells but in the main i was absolutely fine. In my 3rd pg i had virtually no symptoms at all and in the others it was sore boobs and tiredness. Please dont worry, its easy to say i know, I am currently ttc dc5 (i know i know ) and i know that the minute i know i will be really worried too (have had two mmc out of the 6 pgs) but this time i am going to really try and relax and just let things chug along if i can.

Not really sure when MS kicks in as i said i never really got it and the nausea was sporadic at best - i really hope this works out for you, no reason whatsoever why you shouldnt be holding your gorgeous bundle in approx 7.5 (ish) months from now - you have got this far and nothing has gone wrong, every week your chance of something going wrong diminshes so try not to worry and enjoy

It's very possible. Despite the amount that MS gets talked about, I gather that only 50% of women actually get it. Therefore, I would say you have at least a 50% chance of being fine at this stage. I didn't have any with DD, despite lots of people assuring me that it would eventually kick in!
