Is it normal to have a real hormonal surge around the 9 week mark?

I ask because I thought I was doing alright with the whole hormonal bit & wasn't affected at all, but over the last few days I have had zero tolerence with the kids and just burst into tears because DP was going home. When he asked what was wrong I kept sobbing "I don't know!"

I am 9 weeks + 3 & it all seems to have happened all of a sudden. Tell me it gets better & I wont be like this for the entire pregnancy!!

Maybe we have a bit of a hormone surge from the 9 week mark. I have been a horrible shouty mummy with no patience at all, and last night I really don't know what I was getting upset about!

Yup - sudden change into manic woman...

Yeah, I'm 11+3 now and last week I nearly quit my job after I came home from work in floods of tears for the third day in a row. The phrase 'lack of patience' doesn't do my general horribleness any justice at all. Really freaked DH out the other week when I got into a row with him and actually started doing the screamy/cryey/screachy thing at him like a two year old. He told me later (in between sniggers) that he couldn't actually understand what I was saying because I was crying so hard... God...

nomorewine · 15/03/2010 20:46

Lol, glad it's not just me! DP was saying to me yesterday "I don't know what you are crying about", and the truth was, nor did I!
I felt my children may be at risk of being chucked out of the window if they wound me up any further too! (I wouldn't really do this, just in case someone is ready to report me, but you get the kind of wound up I felt!!) It is not good for all around me & I hope it passes soon!

I'm just coming up to 9 weeks and I thought I was doing pretty well this week but I am pretty horrible this weekend! I have been spitting vehemently over various things and my daughter (14) was laughing at me and said "I'm a bit scared of you at the moment, actually!" (she was more or less joking before anyone calls SS!)

Couple of examples to make you feel better.

Last night DH thought it would be nice to watch a film. I got tired and said I'd watch half a film. He said it wasn't really worth it and maybe do it another night. I cried for a good hour.
I said he didn't love me, he had no idea what I was going through, how would he like to be so tired etc (ad infinitum)!

Today I am meant to be stewarding music exams but as I'm so tired DH is doing it for me. He phoned to say the examiner wanted my (MY, mind you) results sheet so she could record the results. I started shouting down the phone "It's her job to bloody bring her own, not mine to sort that out for her!" He's going "ummm OK, never mind..."

I was on Farmville earlier (you'll only understand this if you play it). There's a thing called unwither where you can restore other people's crops to their former glory. I was telling DD I really fancied a "wither" feature so I could go and wither all the crops of my competitors neighbours. I thopught it would add an edge to the game! It was at this point she said I was scary and maybe not quite myself....
