Anyone got any info about the new Birthing Unit at Lewisham Hospital?

Hello all

V much in my early stages of pregnancy and waiting to be have my first MW appointment which will be with Princess Royal Hospital Bromley (used to be Farnborough).

I know that there is a new birthing Unit opening at Lewisham hospital in the Spring so just wondered if anyone has been referred there yet or if there are likely to be transferred there? Haven't heard many good things about the PRU and think a birthing unit would suit me a bit better.

I was caught a bit off guard at my first GP's appointment being asked what hospital I wanted (I honestly didn't think I needed to know that yet only being 5 weeks pregnant!).

I went with Lewisham, but have been a bit concerned with some of the things I have read, and simultaneously encouraged about what I have read about the Birthing Unit.

Do any other mums have any recent experiences of the unit they could share?

Anyone been for a tour of the Unit, or know how to go about organising one?
