I'm 33 weeks with number 3. I've been having symptoms for about a week and a half now.

Strong BH. Increased discharge. Had diarrhoea every couple of days quite badly.

I now have pretty bad backache in my lower back, and am quite hot and bothered and agitated.

I had a mw appointment on Tuesday and baby is head down.

My first two were both born at 38 weeks.

On one hand, I'm getting impatient already and would love to have the baby right now...but obviously 33 weeks is quite early and I'm worried.

Any ideas?

ring the ward and ask to be checked over?

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 13/03/2010 23:02

I agree with car girl, give the a call and go in so they can do a trace, they may be able to give you something to stop it if you are in labour.

abbierhodes · 13/03/2010 23:10

Would they need to stop it? I'm worried I'm making a fuss over nothing really.

Could be something like a kidney infection? Either way, agree with PPs you need to get checked. Give the labour ward a ring.

No definitely go in. If you are in labour then they may be able to stop it (yes, it is better if they can, babies have a better chance the closer to full term they are born) - also not sure what the cut off point is but they can give steroid injections to help mature the baby's lungs in case they are born early, this gives them a much better chance than if they did not have it.

If it is nothing they will be fine and won't mind at all.

j0807bump · 13/03/2010 23:17

if you haven't called them do it now.
no-one will mind if it's a false alarm.

good luck

Thanks for replies. I'm sitting with my feet up. Dh is out, but I'm going to try and get some sleep when he gets back. If it gets worse in the night, or is still there in the morning, I'll call the hospital.

Have just done a search and it seems that they would want to do the steroid injection if you are 33 weeks... I would probably go sooner rather than later if you can. I don't want to worry you but it seems like a sensible precaution. They can't give the steroids once labour is established apparently.

Can you not at least ring them to ask their advice?

CarGirl · 14/03/2010 16:14

How are you today?

abbierhodes · 14/03/2010 18:19

Well, no baby! Once I'd stayed still for an hour or so the backache eased, so I went to bed.

I'm fine babywise today, but full of a cold, which wouldn't be so bad if I could take something for it!!!

I have the midwife again this Tuesday, so will talk through symptoms with her.
