Hi All.

Had a scan today at 7 weeks. This pregnancy is 2 months after emc in December so v nervous.

The heart rate was 136 and doc said that was in normal range but she'll scan at 9 weeks to check it's increased.

Can any of you tell me what heart rates your babies have/had at this early stage?

Thanks.

Normal baseline is anywhere between 110-160. Normally towards the higher end in early pregnancy but I really think 136 is fine.

I just had a scan yesterday at 7.5 weeks. Heartrate was 152. Sonographer said it was just picking up at this point.

I tried to look it up, and I think that it starts off lower but by 8 weeks or so should have increased, so would say at 7 weeks you are fine.

Thank you! Have also been googling (I know, I know..) and feel much better. Are you on the October ante-natal board jazz?

not yet - have lurked - didn't want to dive in too soon! I feel old (40) and am trying to remain a little detached (too much googling here too!)

Jazz am also very very old at 40 (41 next month) - there are a couple of other geriatrics on there too.

I'm a bit further on than you - but because of my antibodies, I have weekly foetal heart monitoring. The most recent were at 18 weeks it was 145, and at 19 weeks 145, the latest reading at 20 weeks was 135. Midwives utterly unconcerned. If I remember right, I'm meant to go back to the consultant if it dips below 125, or shows a decreasing trend over 3 weeks. Bear in mind that the baby's activity level at the time of the scan/listen will affect its heart rate - just as yours is different when you sleep vs dance...

Also - the old wives tale of girls' foetal heart rates being faster than boys may be true too-it is for me!

A boy for you then rocking?

It'll be DS4 for me if true. Aw, luvverly.
