Does this mean my baby will be big.
I had another growth scan due to my lack of weight gain and they just said 'he's certainly not small'.

Could he be like 10lb at delivery??

I think that babies are supposed to put on half pound a week in the last few weeks so that comes to 8.5lbs.

But don't worry too much - these things are notoriously wrong!

I didn't put on much weight when pregnant (a stone and 1.25 stone) and I had one baby at 6lb 10oz and another at 9lb!

Could be. I had a scan at 36 weeks and they said my ds was going to be a big baby. He arrived at 36 + 6 and was 8lb 10oz. Very glad he came out early!

However, as I'm sure lots of people are going to tell you, the scans are often wrong.

well... not necessarily

these scans can be very woolly to say the least
i had a growth scan 2 days before i had my DD and was told she was 'petit' at 6lb 5oz according to the sonographer...just less than 2 days later i gave birth and she was 8lb 12oz so wildly inaccurate measurment are you measuring very big (bigger than dates?) i was 44cm at 40+9 weeks so was measuring very big (i had excess waters though) and i was terrified of having a giant baby as it were it was the excess fluid causing the change and DD wasnt massively big
good luck and i hope your baby isnt a whopper

I had a scan at 36 weeks due to bump being just massive!!! I was told he was already 7lb7oz and was told to expect a 9/10lb baby or maybe even bigger... i got very worried thinking i wasn't going to have a baby at all and infact a toddler was going walk out of me! I was so wrong and turns out he was only 8lb 3oz which compared to what i was expecting he was so tiny. we didn't buy and new born clothes thinking they would all be too small so just upto 3month stuff. We ended up sending people out for smaller babygrows!

Good luck and just think the bigger they are the healther they are (and better sleepers it seems to be!)
