Braxton Hicks or prem labour?

I am not sure whether I have been having BH or if my labour is starting? I am 35 weeks with my second. I never noticed having BH last time but for several hours last night I had painful tightenings which felt like early contractions. They eased off after a few hours but seem to be back again this morning.

I resolved not to do anything last night unless they got more intense or more regular. They were really quite uncomfortable before they stopped and I was on the point of calling my labour ward.

Should I let it go so long if they continue today? Am meant to be having a CS in three weeks due to other complications.

I would call your midwife or consultant because you say you have other complications anyway, I had loads of BH both pregnancies and I could tell that labour contractions were different because they definitely hurt more (although it's not like BH are totally pain-free in my experience) ... so it could possibly be early labour, worth checking out.

Please call your midwife and go in to get it checked out. I thought I had BH but was actually in early labour, it was stopped for a bit but DS was born very prem and struggled as a result. I don't mean to scare you but after my experience I think it is alwyas worth checking.

Thanks, will give mw a call this morning. Did not want to seem like a drama queen but I think that even if I am wrong I want the reassurance.

Thanks again.
