My DD is really making me laugh about this second baby, she's got it all figured out in her own little way!

So far she has said that the baby in my tummy has the same name as her, and that she has a tiny baby in her tummy too which has the same name as me.....

I asked if she'd help me take care of the little baby and she said yes, but not if it leaves poo on her arm, because that will stink! (no rose tinted specs here!)

Also while getting dressed this morning she said 'Ooh Mummy I LOVE your new boobies! They're just so big and.....wobbly!' whilst she did a little wobble!

She cracks me up!

DD was convinved that baby had a television in the bump. Nothing would convince her otherwise. Perhaps that says something about the size of my bump .

But the baby didn't watch the same programs as her, because she is a big girl .

When i was expecting my first baby,a little girl asked me how it got in my tummy, her next statement was " did you swallow it ? "

Bettymum · 15/03/2010 11:08

Yesterday I finished sewing up a little cardi and booties that I've knitted for soon-to-arrive DS, and DD (2.2) lifted my t-shirt, held them up to my tummy and shouted, "Look brother! Presents for you!"

pranma · 15/03/2010 11:12

Dgs used to stick soft toys under his top and say they were 'pretending to be a baby' because the real baby in his tummy was 'a little bit shy'.He also used to ask dd to let the baby come out 'just for its tea'.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 15/03/2010 11:13

When I was pregnant with ds2, ds1 (aged about 18 months) believed that if he looked in through my belly button, he'd be able to see the baby.

zazen · 15/03/2010 11:26

These are really cute stories

My Dd (5) is obsessed with birth at the moment and we have birth action games quite regularly -(when I was a child we used to have death action games!!)

Babies (Dd's lovies) are stuffed up her jumper and then she's down and on fours having 'birth actions' writhing and hey presto! a baby!

Dd quite regularly tells mummies who are pregnant that their baby will come out their baby bottom - cue terrified looks as pg mum to be suddenly remembers baby has to come out somehow!

stoppingat3 · 15/03/2010 11:51

not me (thankfully) but we have just discovered that our dog is having puppies, DD (3) went quiet for a few minutes, then asked. Will they have to take all her skin off?

Monstermuncher · 15/03/2010 12:18

My DD asks me several times every day if the baby is coming and reminds me that I will have to squeeze it out like a big poo (and does poo-squeezing face to add emphasis). Its going to be a long wait til September ..

DS1 was in Reception when I was expecting DD1. We joked that I was enormous because I had eaten all the pies. He told all his friends and they would compete for an invitation to our house to see my enormous belly

neolara · 15/03/2010 12:33

On being told that the new baby would pop out of mummy's tummy, my dd used to repeat triumphantly "Pop! Like toast!"

Mmmmm. Sort of.

pinemartina · 15/03/2010 12:36

DS age 9 and well used to puberty and sex ed chat from DD's aged 12 and 14,said -
" I thought you always said you would NEVER have any more babies Mum "
Yes,that's right;I replied .
"Well did you just decide one night at bed time to change your mind and make one ?"
No,it was a suprise, a happy accident.I said
"But I don't get it,how did you get the seeds by accident? Did (DP) KNOW? Did you ask him? How could he plant them without either of you noticing?"...........
He found the update - "seed planting activity"isn't always done to plant seeds, and can be for fun/love - absolutely hysterical and refused to believe me ! Checking with his 12 yr old sister, she infomed him it was t"true but revolting".....

Songbird · 15/03/2010 13:28

Ah, these are great. I'm not preggo but dd (5) was saying t'other day that she doesn't want a baby when she grows up because she doesn't want her tummy cut open. So I told her that it's only sometimes that doctors cut the tummy open and that usually babies come out of your 'twinkle', and that she came out of my twinkle.

Cue horrified pause and a furtive 'Mummy, don't tell ANYONE, don't tell Daddy, don't tell ANYONE', and a speechless horrified pause when I told her that Daddy was there at the time, and saw her come out of my twinkle. DH pissed himself when I told him.

PanicMode · 15/03/2010 13:37

We are having a very surprise number 4 and I have been struggling with the whole idea of another baby (and have even had counselling to get my head sorted out). When I was about 15 weeks pg, we told the DCs - my eldest (5) said, Mummy, why are we having ANOTHER baby - I think we have enough already. Which rather summed up how I was feeling, but did make me laugh!!

MiaWallace · 15/03/2010 13:46

Dd (4) asked me where babies come from. I explained all about the daddy putting a seed in mammy's belly and then it growing.

When Dp came home from work she was explaining it to him.

"The daddy put the seed in mammy's mouth and then she swallows it and it goes into her belly and grows into a baby"

I then had to try and explain how the seeds doesn't get into the belly by being swallowed. I chickened out and said the daddy puts it in the mammy's belly button.

fillybuster · 15/03/2010 13:56

Ds (4.5) told me that he always knew dd (2) and tne next baby (due June) were coming as he'd seen them in my big toes when he was in my tummy

We were talking about childbirth and explaining that he had also come out that way and that he had got stuck. He was a ventouse delivery and we explained that was like being sucked out with a really big hoover.

The next day he told his class teacher that the doctors got him out of mummy's tummy with a hairdryer ! Cue much confusion at the school until we explained...

Dd (2) is convinced she has a baby in her tummy at the moment; she also seems to think there is an extra baby in each of my breasts as well as the one in my tummy. When she was born, ds spent a lot of time breastfeeding and burping his toy rabbit...I used to crack up at seeing him sitting with his top pulled up and his rabbit firmly clamped into position

fillybuster · 15/03/2010 14:00

Oh yes, and DD firmly believes that she has to poke her finger in my belly button to talk to/see the baby.

Both dcs are now giving extra good night cuddles and kisses to the bump, which is sweet

NormaSknockers · 15/03/2010 16:18

My DD is utterly convinced that she grew in my tummy but that DS grew in DH's!

Rindercella · 15/03/2010 16:42

at these stories, so cute.

I am nearly 39 weeks pregnant with DD2, so have a quite, erm, large tummy. DD1 (2.6 yrs) said the other day that, "Mummy's tummy is like a balloon. The balloon is going to go POP! and my baby sister will come out!".

Filly, DD1 also gives the bump loads of cuddles and kisses and says she loves her little sister and that her little sister will be her best friend. I shall remind her of that when she is a teenager and her 'little sister' keeps nicking her make-up!

picklemum · 15/03/2010 17:24

When my DD was 3 and I was pregnant with twins, she did loads of cute pictures with a stick-man mummy with TWO tummies, for the TWO babies, of course. Was soooo sweet.

And everyone else she saw that was pregnant.... she said loudly that they were having 2 babies.

As far as she was concerned babies came in batches of two only and she would not accept disagreements on this from anyone.

naomi83 · 15/03/2010 17:55

DS (3) announced in a loud voice yesterday that mummy was having three babies, one in her tummy and two up here- pointing at my boobs!

KernowMother · 15/03/2010 18:21

at all these stories. Very early pg here but can't wait to tell my DC's (5&6).

My 5yo had been asking me to "please lay another baby" for a while now.

I must ask that it wasn't because he asked that we are

MuddyMamma · 15/03/2010 19:21

wWhen my 5yr neice gave me a cuddle after DS was born, she gave me a funny look and said
'where has your big belly gone?'
For the next few months, she would reguraly ask me 'is he still a boy'

Craftynap · 15/03/2010 19:58

A few days ago DD (3) was giving my bump a cuddle, looked up all excited and asked "is it playing with your bones?"

starshaker · 15/03/2010 20:13

My dd has said
I dont want your tummy to go pop.
Mummy are the babies going to come out your mouth?
And my fav
Dont worry mummy. If the babies are boys we can ask santa to take them back and change them to girls
