Hi all I am currently 9+2 with my first and I have just got my first scan date through the post this morning. When I have the scan i will be 13+5. Has anyone else had a first scan this late?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

yes - with dd3 and i was even later with dd4 but that was my own fault

Yes - they like to do it between 10 - 14 weeks. If anything it it better as you can see more as baby is that little bit bigger.

Just got my second scan date through for 22 weeks which seems a bit late considering they booked it at 14 weeks.

I guess that is a good thing that the baby will be bigger and we will be able to see more its just that I have known I am pg since I was 3 and a half weeks so it seems like ages!!!

My first scan was at 15 weeks!! Hospital's fault and the lady who did my scan was pretty shocked that i hadn't been seen earlier. Thankfully all was well

Am 12 weeks Tues, and still awaiting a scan date through, I hope it hurry's up

When I had my first scan I thought I was 12 weeks but was actually dated at 13+5. Wasn't a problem and I got really good pictures from it. Didn't cause any delays to later antenatal appointments either.

I had a scan at about 9 weeks + 4 because my cycles are irregular and they weren't sure of my dates but the quality was crap. I had to come back 5 weeks later and the one at 14 weeks was infinitely better, loads more to see!! We could see the baby waving at us and moving around etc - it'll be well worth the wait

I had mine last Thursday (4/3/10) and I was 12 weeks and 6 days. I went to Kings in London and they do them up to 13 weeks 6 days. I wouldn't worry as you will see so much more! It is truly amazing! I cant stop looking at the pictures!!! We saw it's little kidneys all full and ready for a pee! Bless! Good luck, it is so worth the wait! There was 6 weeks between me receiving the letter and finally getting there, but it seemed like forever! xx

Hey,
I will have my first scan at 13+5 as well. Was pretty upset, when I got the letter. All they sent was a the date (no: congrats you will be a mum, etc.) and loads of brochures about what can go wrong in your pregnancy!
Great. Also, my first scan will be my first ante natal appointment, so I haven't even seen a doctor yet to confirm pregnancy etc. (well, I am 100% sure, but still, it would be nice to hear it officially.). I was going to start telling friends after week 12, but will now have to wait for the: your baby is ok! before I dare telling everyone.
Really annoyed, but looking forward to the pictures!!!!

I will be 13+3 when I finally have my scan - I've known I was pg from 4 weeks, so it feels like an age for me too. It's such a frustrating and anxious time of pg as you are pretty much ignored until you are at least 12 weeks (unless there are issues already). I am 6+6 now and I have my booking in app with the MW when I am 12 weeks, so until then I just have to twiddle my thumbs and try my hardest not to let every twinge worry me....
