I am nearly 8 weeks pregnant and in teh last 2 weeks i have notice about 3 times that i have a little bit of thick green discharge. Sorry for the tmi but a little bit like i have just blown my nose with a thick cold. Not a lot but enough for me to notice it. Does any one know what it is? It doesn't smell and it isn't tinged with any other colour, very definitely green!

HELP....

I have been debating whether or not to post areply, as I didn't want to cause any alarm or distress.
I had this in my last pg, which devastatingly led to a MMC. Although I mentioned it to the doctor when I found out, she did not comment on it, therefore I do not know if it had any bearing on my MMC.
I had it for a while, and still wish I had got myself to a GP; I think it may have been some kind of infection?
Please accept my apologies if this sounds alarming, but I couldn't not say please get checked out; it is probably something mild, but catching stuff early is always good?
Big congrats on being pg though and bestest wishes.

Just want to make it clear, this may have had NO bearing on my last outcome.

You've obviously got an infection, get to the GUM clinic and get it treated!
Doesn't sound spregnancy related to me, but infections can cause problems with pregnancy if not treated.
A normal GP isn't a professional in sexual health so I would definately go to the GUM clinic

Get seen asap - definitely an infection. Infections can (if left untreated) cause miscarriage. Just see someone tomorrow - I'm sure it'll all be fine

Hi,

There is no harm getting checked out and I recommend you do asap, but also didn't want you to panic.

I had something similar to this in first trimester for a couple of weeks and so did another poster on here other day. I didn't have an infection and I have not had any since, I am now 22 weeks.

Good luck

Hi

I m a specialist sister in GUM it sounds like it may be an ifection called bacterial vagonosis. If so , if you attend a clinic they will swab you and can tell you there and then and treat you.[bv is not sexually transmitted]

There are also other infections that can lead to a "green" discharge. If it is BV can easily be treated with antibiotics and it does require treatment in pregnancy. You can self refer to a gum clinic and its all totally anoyomous [you don t need to declare to your gp you ve attended] treatment is free and if its like our clinic you can see a nurse practitioner[as opposed to a dr as we do the same as the drs].Don t know if you normally pay for your prescriptions but all treatment is free at our clinics.Hope this helps.

I would say totally normal, well it was for me! I got checked out and was told nothing wrong just normal for me on each pg.
