Hi,

Bit of an embarassing one!

I'm 24 weeks pregnant and last night developed horrendous diarrhoea from nowhere. After about 4 toilet trips I decided to look at the immodium we had in the cupboard and stupidly I decided that as it didn't say 'not safe for use in pregnancy' I took 2. The leaflet said consult your pharmist or doctor if pregnant but then this morning when I've searched through the archives here I've found a few people saying no its not safe during pregnancy.

What should I do? Should I call my midwife or doctor?

Ahh, worried now!

I think you're supposed to take dehydration salts instead of Immodium when you're pregnant, like Dioralyte.

But in saying that, if you've only taken Immodium once and you've had no ill effects then it's probably fine. Still, a quick phonecall to your MW would prob do no harm...

Thanks for the reply.

I did call the MW in the end and she said it'd be ok but just no more.

Phew!
