Hi pipinmybelly,

I had palpitations all through both pregnancies- reckon it's a hormone thing. Although it can also be a sign of anaemia, apparently, so worth mentioning to your midwife.

Yep, I get them too, especially second and third trimester. Pretty common. Mention it to your mw and get iron count checked, but don't worry.

I had them around that point in pregnancy too, doctor did a heart trace, also sent me home with a moniter I put to my chest to take a reading when it happened.
The little machine did say 'abnormal rythym' they were palpatations, had to writ edown what I was doing at those moments in time.
I actually realised that I was having the palpatations during stressful situations, even when the stressful situation wasn't overly obvious, if someone was talking to me, tv blaring, kids screaming, etc..
and mainly; when I hadn't slept properly!
So the resolution was obvious to me.
Go to bed early and take yourself out of a situation and go and relax when things get stressful :-)
Mine stopped

Goodluck
