I have just been to see my midwife for a routine check up and my nearly-3-year old has heard the baby for the first time. The midwife told him it sounds like a horse, now he thinks mummy is going to have a horsey instead of a baby!!

Just made me smile and I thought there might be some other stories out there!

Aaah! I'd be so dissapointed if I thought I was getting a horse and got a stinky little sister!

When I told DD(2) our friend was having a new baby, she wondered if she'd use up the old one first! (Like with toothpaste)

DS (3) said "I don't want the baby to bring me a present as it would be yucky and covered in blood"

DD (6) responded "don't be silly, the baby doesn't really bring the present from the tummy mummy just goes to the shop and buys it"

We have to rest at bus stop seats on the school run because of my pain from spd. She told me one day that next time I would be best not listening to Dd1's ideas anymore, as they end up too painful for me .

My sister called her little boy Thomas. DD is Thomas the Tank Engine obsessed, and had real trouble understanding that her aunty had not actually been carrying a choo-choo in her tummy all that time.

When I was pg DD was very intruigued by my changing shape. In the supermarket one day she asked loudly "Does that man have a baby in his tummy?", pointing to a rather well padded gentleman. I was

My son variously says that a) it is a cat not a baby (??) b) there are definitely two in there and c) that he has a baby in his tummy.

From friends experience he'll be bfing his teddies once the baby is here!
