how many days late were you when you did a home test?

My period is now 2 days late, we are trying to get pregnant but I only just came off the pill in May. So I'm not sure if I'm pregnant or if my cycle is just going to be a bit longer.
I would like to do a test but I'm scared, silly I know since we are trying, don't want to waste money on a test just for it to come up negative, since they are quite expensive.
Should I wait a bit longer just to be sure? How long did you wait before doing a test?

Any news then Freya?? Surely with all these stories you have run out and bought a test??

Decided to wait until later in the week, just incase it's my cycle settling down, but I'll let you all know when the time comes. I don't have any other symptoms, no sore boobs or anything but last time I was 9 weeks gone before I noticed anything amiss and the first sign was a huge increase in my chest when I was about 8 weeks gone, periods had been rather eratic that time which is why I didn't cotton on sooner. I'll keep you all posted and thanks for all your stories

Just to let you all know my period has arrived so I guess that answers my question, will start counting days again and try again next month, wish me luck
