Ranitidine in second trimester?

I took ranitidine for awful acid reflux during my last pregnancy from about 30 weeks. I suffer badly from sickness for the whole 9 months but from about 4 months it is not triggered by food or smells but by acid - I can easily be sick 10 times a day but its not food its purely acid which as you can imagine is awful.

I cant take liquid gaviscon or chewy tablets as they make me sick . Last pregnancy the doctor said it was fine to take a ranitidine tablet each day which worked - I was 30 weeks then though.

I am currently 16 weeks and suffering from awful acid and have an important few days. I need to work and eat. Has anyone taken them this soon? Internet generally says not licensced but studies have shown no effect and I'm in second trimester.

Would ring midwife but she will just say I have to see the doctor and I need one today

Any experience? I am obviously not asking anyone to give me medical advice but would like to know if anyone elses doctor said it was fine to take them this soon.

I've spoken to a senior pharmacist who recommended ranitidine in pregnancy when I was 2nd trimester. I've been using it to great effect. Its a bloody lifesaver!

Thats fantastic thank you. Last time it meant I could actually eat - had to stay away from typical heart burn triggers but could eat small meals . Its awful isnt it!

I'm 32 weeks now, peppa, and bizarrely it not as bad now as it was in the second trimester. The baby was transverse until a couple of weeks ago and that made the heartburn dreadful. Now that he/she has dropped head down I feel much better.

Sure I won't be saying that in a couple of weeks though.
