OK, please excuse possibly daft questions; I have had a MMC last year and obviously, like anyone in this position, am very paranoid of it happening all over again.
I am 11.5 weeks pg. Up until a few days ago, I had an awful lot of bloating, especially in the evenings. Now my stomach is pretty much back to normal. Is this a dodgy sign or is it within normal range?
Also, if I were to do a pg test 'to be sure' would that be pointless? I mean, would I register as 'negative' if I have had a MMC?
I am due a dating scan on Saturday, which seems an age away!
Big apologies for apparently naive post; I did think about name changing as is so embarrassing.

Sorry, I don't know the answers to any of your questions.

I'm sure many, many posters will.

I'm almost 15 weeks and can look very big and pregnant or just a bit thicker round the waist depending on the time of day.

Hope someone will answer your questions (properly) soon.

Re the bloating, I really don't think you can read anything into symptoms or loss of symptoms.

As for doing a test, I think this would be pointless. If you had miscarried I think you might well still have HCG in your wee for a while.

Try to relax; I know it is hard. There may still be a thread on the pregnancy forum for women pregnant after a loss. Might be worth having a look at that - they will understand how you feel.

The odds are this pregnancy is fine. I hope your scan goes well.

Almost everything is normal in early pregnancy, so please don't obsess over bloating. And don't do another test. You really are better off waiting till Saturday.

I know it is easier said than done. I got pregnant shortly after miscarrying a long-awaited and much-wanted baby, and I was almost deranged with anxiety. That first trimester was the longest 12 weeks of my life. (It didn't help that I bled from 10 to 20 weeks - but even then, everything turned out alright!) I truly was like a crazy woman, haranguing people with my every physical twitch and demanding to know what it meant!

So - breathe, be kind to yourself, have faith and hope. Let us know how you get on Saturday.

Hi there

I really sympathise as the early weeks are difficult after having a mmc but the initial bloating thing is common in early pregnancy.

Do you have any sickness? While it is vile I found it a real comfort as it reassured me that the pregnancy was progressing and established. However, don't panic if you don't have sickness as not everyone gets it!

I am 28 weeks pg and tbh, I don't look very pg. Some days it isn't even noticeable and I'm on my third. Is it possible that you are like me? I didn't show at all with DD1 until I was nearly term, with DS I was huuuuge from about 5 months and this one, DD2, again, not very big.

SecretSlattern · 02/03/2010 19:54

and sorry I'm not able to answer any of your other questions. I had a MC after DD1 and was devestated. Didn't even know what a MMC was until I found MN, so can't imagine how difficult that must be for people although I can understand why every thing worries you even more.

nouveaupauvre · 04/03/2010 22:15

if its any help i bloated a lot during early weeks of last pregnancy - to the point where i looked properly pregnant at about six weeks, was horrified to think how big i might be by nine months! it was of course all water retention, not baby, and it seemed to deflate by around the stage you are at (poss as hormones settled down). i then didnt start to show properly until 4 months or more.
but i panicked about both my weirdly expanding/contracting stomach and the fact that i never had morning sickness which i was obviously convinced meant i had lost the pregnancy. said pregnancy has spent the day kicking a football around the park. please don't worry.
