so went to the mw for my 28 week app (and v painful anti-d injection in my bum!) and she said my glucose was now 5.3 and they would have to "Monitor" it.

oh pants. Now this isn't an excuse, but I have been feeling sick ALL the blardy way through, and the only thing to take the sick feeling/taste in my mouth away has been digestives. Chocolate topped ones. I also have a mad liking for Nutella on toast. So, I haven't exactly been easing off the sugar.

I'm 5 foot and like a tiny little ball, with a huge arse and boobs and I'm beginning to swell up as well.

I have an almost constant upset stomach and I'm thirsty all the time. and really really hungry.

So, is it going to be wholewheat toast and hummus then for the next 11 weeks? Just the thought of some of things she suggested makes me want to be sick. I KNOW it's sensible, and I have been easing off sugar, trying very hard with it, but I feel so sick!

I don't know what I'm asking really. Is 5.3 pretty high? Should I banish my nutella into the really high cupboards where I can't reach it? Has anyone else got a constantly upset stomach and thirstiness? Does this smack of diabetes to you?

Please god make the next 11 weeks pass quickly!!

oh dear! sounds like you've got the sugar need! i've been finding myself constantly stuffing my face with sugary things, and as a result have been feeling gassy and generally unwell, plus tired a lot. I think because of the crash in energy after the sugar. I asked my DH to put all things up high where i cant reach (i'm also 5 foot so cant reach far), and not to tell me where they are hidden. I have also stopped buying naughty things. I would sit and eat nutella straight from the jar...
Dont completely stop your treats but try and limit them. I have found that since reducing the amount of sugar i eat, i have been feeling heaps better. I've been munching on grapes, satsumas, bananas, and dried apricots which are all really sweet. Though not quite the same as a chocolate digestive, i know it's better for me. Maybe get digestives without the chocolate, or some cereal bars.
It will be really hard at first, but once you've been a few days without as much sugar you will start to feel better.
Oh and when you feel hungry, try having a glass of water or squash - you will probably find it is thirst not hunger and it will fill you up a bit.

I feel for you hun as i too can eat Nutella straight from the jar .

as for the feeling sick, i found that plain crisps helped me a bit, when really it was sweet things i wanted. just another idea to try.

im now 39+4 and we bought a tray of forrero roche in for the midwives (hoping for a homebirth) - i got my DH to put them out of my reach (hard cos im 5'9"!) but in mad mad sugar crazy state i just got a stool to reach them !!

you are not alone and have my deepest sympathy. hope you feel better soon.
