I reckon I heard about a benefit introduced last year whereby pregnant women can claim a one of payment of £250 or so to spend on fresh fruit etc.
Have I dreamt this up?
If not, how do I claim it?

Hi,
I think you are thinking of the healthy start scheme. When you hit 29 weeks you can apply for £190 to spend on food for the final weeks of pregnancy. Prior to that you can apply for the healthy start vouchers which are worth £3.10 per baby per week. Can't remember how many weeks you have to be, think it could be 15, but you can pop onto their website...www.healthystart.nhs.uk and enter your mobile no and they will text you when you are about to hit the qualifying week. You have to be on a qualifying benefit to get it, but again there is a questions bit on their website to see if you qualify or not. Hope this helps.
