sciatica? Baby squishing the nerves in your lower back?

Sounds to me like sciatica. My midwife suggested to me that you try and stretch it out, ie by doing something like swimming or using a birthing ball.

Mine is under my bum and down my right thigh. Has been very painful and I've found that resting with a hot waterbottle on the painful area helps

I had cramps with dd1, they came on at night and were so bad my leg ached all day. I think cramps are quite normal in pregnancy.

But are yours on both legs, so prob best to get yourself checked out by the doc/midwife

ooh yes i had this terribly sciatica did find deep freeze was very relieving and gp gave me co codomol or co dydramol{sp?} cant remember which one but it was ok with pregnancy

i never use heat on mine as it inflames it and makes it more painful i used cold packs and deep freeze gel and spray

asked midwife, she says it is probably baby pressing on my nerves. She warned me to keep good posture as when my pelvis loosens up more towards the end of pregnancy if you're not careful you can do yourself damage.
So am now totally paranoid that am not sitting straight and will end up walking like quasimodo!!!
She said take paracetamol etc...
