Is it ok to eat chinese takeaway when pregnant? or would you not risk it?
Having a massive chinese craving, and just ordered s&s prawns, chicken with cashew nuts and fried rice. Not healthy, I know .......... but is it ok to eat it?

Its fine to eat chinese takeaway when pregnant. Don't get into the habit of eating completely differently when pregnant, its not necessary at all.

I've had the occasional take away throughout my pregnancy (nearly 37 weeks now) and baby seems to be doing fine on it. I think it should be ok - if you know the take away and you've not been ill with food from there before then I would go for it. Probably wouldn't keep and reheat anything but other than that - enjoy!

xxkt1xx - EXACTLY my order from last night + seaweed! Was DE-licious!

The baby loved it and kept me up all night

xxkt1xx · 25/02/2010 18:44

haha-gotta love the chinese food

Besom · 25/02/2010 18:45

Definitely OK.

I've just eaten some scallops which I (over) cooked very thouroughly myself. I was wondering if I should, but I think it's really the cheese and the pate or raw things that you need to worry about.

Madigan · 25/02/2010 19:04

Thank you everyone .... will enjoy it now xxx

yes its fine. While you are out can you get me one too, I'd like:

Peanut satay
Prawn toast
Seafood and mixed veg

You can go barmy avoiding foods when you are preggers, I have not and feel great (39 + 3)

wafflesmum · 26/02/2010 17:23
