How to congratulate a friend?

I have a friend in her 40s who has just announced her pregnancy - the problem is she is not overly thrilled. It was unplanned and I think she is only now coming to terms with the idea - how can I express my congratulations without coming across all gushing as I do not think she really wants that reaction?

i think she would probably be greatful if you seemed really happy about it..my reason is because she is now in this situation like it or not so you may as well make her feel as good as she can about it and give her some support xxx thats just me
