Can anyone help?

I am Term + 7 days today. I have had two failed S&S's, one at T+2 and one at T+5. Baby's head is 2/5 engaged but apparantely the cervix is posterior so they can't do it.

What is a posterior cervix? The midwife said it like I ought to know?!!

A posterior cervix is pointing slightly backwards, towards your bottom. There is quite a good discussion of it here.

FWIW I've gone from a closed posterior cervix to delivering a baby in a couple of hours. Whilst it is dispiriting to go for a sweep and find out you are "not favourable" it doesn't mean it will hold you up any.

Thanks, that's really good to know. Looks like a midwife replied on that thread you highlighted. I am going back to hospital tomorrow (DD+9) so this time if I am not sure about anything I am going to make sure I ask for an explanation I understand before I leave, I am sure they won't mind.....
