Hello to all... Just wondering if anyone has any advice regarding the above. I have NO symptoms whatsoever in the day, but at about 3am, I wake up feeling terribly sick and this keeps me awake for a few hours.

I am only 9 weeks but am now thoroughly knackered!! Any tips? It just seems weird that its only affecting me during the small hours...

Yes, I have the same and I'm 10 weeks - it started at 5 weeks. I have nausea a lot during the day but nowhere near as bad as during the night. If I am awake enough, I have a fruit tea, camomile or something and a few pieces of fruit, like apple or melon. Works a treat and at least means I get another 4 hours sleep. HTH!

I have had the same. I only just found out I'm pg so had put it down to it being so early/maybe eating too late, but now it has worsened.

I'm also getting that metallic taste you hear about, which I never had the first time. It's really strong and constant and I think that's what's making me feel nauseous. I keep a glass of water and squash by the bed to try and get rid of the taste and hope I can get back to sleep asap....before DD1 wakes me up for something or other!

I always felt sick if I was getting hungry. Spent the first three months eating granola bars. You could always try a dry biscuit to help settle your stomach?

I used to get up and have some weetabix - eating seemed to be the only thing to stop it. That said, I had woken at 4am and just made it to the loo before chucking up before.

Thanks for your replies - guess this is not as weird as I thought (but as this is my first I don't know what to expect.)

Will seem weird eating in the middle of the night but I shall give it a go - just hope it doesn't wake me up COMPLETELY, as then I'll have extra hours to worry about everything else !!

Ooh - thats another good question - when does the symptom "worrying" end?!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I remember the nights of lying awake at 3am, getting up to be sick or to try and eat something to stop myself being sick. For what its worth, a mouthful of dry bread worked for me (I took a roll or a croissant to bed every night)...seemed to fill me up & take away the nausea long enough for me to get to sleep.

The good news is that it does pass and you will forget all about it....I'm now 17 weeks, feeling great & it seems like a distant memory.

Good luck, hope you feel better soon.

I had this before I even knew I was pregnant - I just thought I had picked up a bug.

I'm now 14 weeks, it went off at about 5 weeks (so 1 week after I knew) and I have had no other sickness at all since then.

For me, it was like when you go to bed drunk, I would wake and the room would spin and I would feel dizzy and queasy.

I'm 20 weeks with dc3, and still wake up feeling nauseous and full of 'worry' (don't know if the latter ever goes-sorry!), but fine in the day. I keep a snack box by the bed and something to drink, I usually sit up, put on my seabands (seasickness/travel bands), have something to eat and read my book for 10 minutes, until the food has kicked in.

Congratulations and good luck

Thank you all very much. Had a better night last night, thanks to some very nice digestives by the bed It was VERY peculiar to eat at that time but I fell back asleep much quicker than other nights. Bring on the biscuits!!

Hi there

I have this too! I am 9 weeks and I had no nausea at all until nearly 8 weeks... I thought I had escaped! Generally, I feel sick when I am hungry in the evenings, but twice now I have woken up in the middle of the night and been sick as a dog! Nice.
