It was quite a big gush of red blood and a fair sized clot. Now there is light spotting.
I am 6 wks + 3.

No pain.

I had bleeding around the same time when pregnant with dd but it was only spotting and brown.

I've phoned the midwives and I've just to see what happens over night. I know it could be something or nothing.

Just having a moan really. Oh crap...

Hi Besom
I can't offer anything but sympathy I'm afraid. I'm 4wk+4 and am having brown spotting, and have been told the same - wait and see.
Damn hard though.
Good luck, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Lulumaam · 22/02/2010 18:20

sorry to hear this.

fresh red blood and a clot does not sound hopeful, but no pain, so fingers crossed.

hope all works out for you and for you delilah

Besom · 22/02/2010 18:23

Thanks delilahbelle - and I'll keep mine crossed for you.

I'm trying to be zen about it but it's hard!

I had very similar when I was at about the same stage. Doctor told me it was probably a miscarriage but to rest and go to the hospital for a scan the next day.
I was convinced I had lost the baby (heartbreaking after 5 years of trying) but the scan was showed it was still there. A few weeks later I had loads of blood gushing out, but baby was still there. She was born several months later safe and sound. I never did find out what caused the bleeding, I was just so gratful to have her.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

I had the same experience at 6 weeks. I called the midwife in tears and was booked for an emergency scan 2 days later - which showed a little bean with a heart beat - promptly burst in to tears again. Now 31 weeks and no further bleeding but a very active little monkey in my belly. All the very best, it's suprisingly common an I'm sure is not bad news for you.
On a TMI note, it is more common after/during a BM or at the time of your normal period.

Besom · 22/02/2010 18:47

thank you folks - fifi, what is a bm?

I'm 9 weeks and starting bleeding yesterday, sometimes red sometimes brown. To start with it was only when I wipe, but seems to be getting heavier today. Am completely terrified. Have called the EPU but they just say to monitor it - they don't seem to want to offer me a scan, which is really annoying me... Lots of sympathy & good luck to everyone going through the same.

Besom · 22/02/2010 19:30

same to you brownrabbit x

How are you doing?

Besom · 23/02/2010 16:37

I seem to have stopped spotting in the last few hours, after just spotting slightly overnight. I still feel pregnant if that counts for anything.

Having a scan tomorrow - the midwife said she thinks probably just an implantation bleed. So, fingers crossed.

Thanks so much for asking legally blonde

brownrabbit and delilahbelle - how are you? I don't understand why they're not offering you a scan br.

delilahbelle · 23/02/2010 18:46

Still spotting, although it's got heavier and redder. I have a scan booked for 2 weeks today at 6+5, nothing to do until then except wait and pray...

Besom · 24/02/2010 13:50

I've had scan - they saw a faint heart beat but it wasn't as strong as they like to see, so I have to go back in a fortnight.

Delilahbelle - it's really difficult coping with the uncertainty isn't it?

I did finally (after a lot of nagging) manage to get a scan this morning, and sadly it just showed an empty sack. I'm feeling pretty numb at the moment, though also doing quite a lot of crying.

For what it's worth, I definitely didn't feel pregnant any more, so Besom - I hope that the fact that you do means you are. Lots of luck to you & DB & anyone else in the same situation, it is absolutely horrible not knowing what's going on.

Besom · 24/02/2010 17:36

Oh brownrabbit - I'm so very sorry. That's heart breaking and I don't really know what to say, except be very gentle with yourself. XXX

brownrabbit · 26/02/2010 12:05

Thanks Besom. It is horrible, but in a strange way I feel a lot calmer knowing what's happening than waiting to find out and suspecting the worst. I really hope everything's OK for you - it sounds positive that they've found a heartbeat. Hope you can manage to not to stress too much whilst you wait for your next scan - easier said than done, I know.

Besom · 26/02/2010 19:24

Thank you - I have a toddler to distract me so hopefully not too much time to ruminate.

Good luck and take care.
