We have been referred for IVF in the summer after 3 years TTC and a laparoscopy for endo that doesnt seem to have worked

I am just interested to hear stories from ladies that have been in the same boat and have come through it all with a pregnancy- bit of positivity to focus on!!!

I haven't had fertility treatment but used to work with 2 other women who both had successful IVF. One of them had a little girl who has just turned one and the other had twins, a boy and a girl, about 8 months ago.

My daughter was born over 7 years ago and is an ICSI baby (similar to ivf). She was conceived on first icsi cycle. We were told we both had fertility problems. One consultant told us that it was doubtful we could ever conceive naturally. We were only about 22/23 then.

Anyhow, a couple of years after Dd1 was born we tried icsi again but it didn't work. Couldn't afford anymore attempts.

A year after that conceived Dd2 naturally. Then a year or so later fell pregnant naturally with Dd3. Dh got snip just after Dd3 was born. Now pregnant with Dc4. Due in June.

Noone looking at me now would think it took us 12 years to get our first child!

By the way Dh's vasectomy has not worked. After apparently suffering with low sperm count most his adult life the ones that he does produce just don't want to die

13 years ago I never, ever thought I would have a child, not my own. I still look at them and can't believe it at times.

Best of luck with the ivf in the summer.

I havent had IVF, but we did have a hard time conceiving and was put on clomid after trying for two years. Fell PG but lost the baby.
We were then really lucky and conceived a few months later and have a beautiful DD.

Trying for number two didnt take as long, 8 months i was pregnant again after doing reflexology for a few months. Lost that baby too, but carried on with the reflexology and 2 months later pregnant again. I am currently 39 weeks pregnant with number two, and feel incredibly blessed. A lot of people think trying for a baby is easy, and for the majority it is. When it's a struggle it takes its toll mentally. Best of luck to you, I found visiting a forum helped me loads with women who had PCOS like me so we were all in a similar boat. There are lots of happy stories on there including IVF.

We were told that our only hope of having a child was through IVF. I have fairly severe PCOS and my DH has a high number of abnormal forms. We were told that we would need ICSI and were put on a very long waiting list. Anyway, I am now 8 weeks pregnant after having no treatment at all! I don't know whether we just got extremely lucky or whether doctors are sometimes a bit quick to advise that IVF is the way forward. I'm now counting down the days to my 12 week scan and just hoping that all is OK! So don't give up, stay positive and I hope you get a break soon.
