Stitch like feeling in lower abdomen at 6 weeks pregnant

I keep getting a mild stitch like feeling in my lower abdomen when I walk around that I've never had before. Has anyone else had a similar symptom in the first weeks after they found out they were pregnant? Is it anything to be concerned about? I've not really had any other typical pregnancy symptoms yet, except for feeling quite tired and some sensitive boobs.

Thanks everyone!

I think that could easily be described as ligament stretching- it makes me wince sometimes. I also feel pain if I leave it for a while before going to the loo! All linked I think.

tis pretty normal......like elsa says, tis the ligaments stretching and giving...your womb is having to adjust to growing, and it is already changing shape.

I have had 5 babies, and each time had that feeling of stitch-type pain in the early stages. right up until about 12wks IIRC.

that said, if it gets too painful and stops you from doing your normal things, or is continuous, get it checked out. It can be normal, but it is never worth assuming that if you get really worried.

is this your first??

Thanks for the advice, that makes sense that its my ligaments stretching, its just weird it only seems to happen when I am running around the place, like it was a real stitch! But I guess in the next few months I am going to be experiencing a lot of strange feelings. Thank you. D

Oh and yes it is my first! Very excited but its so frustrating having to wait till 12 weeks to tell any friends or to check that everything is alright! I've known for 2 weeks and already feels like ages...D

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! I had loads of these types of pains in early pregnancy. Bit scary at first but was just ligaments stretching. I would say trust your instincts with pains and always get checked out if you feel really worried. It's better to do so unecessarily - I did so during pregnancy but the midwives all understood and were really supportive.

Thank you. Its so good to know other people have experienced similar pains. It feels natural, almost like its a way of my body telling me to slow down for the pregnancy..

congratuations , misssed that earlier

the way you describe it, it does sound like stretching and growing pains rather than anything else.
