Braxton Hicks at 10 weeks?

I'm 10 weeks pregnant with DC2, and have noticed "tightenings" which I vaguely remember as Braxton Hicks with DD, but had them much later in pregnancy with her.

I only notice them when I am lying in bed in the morning - nothing painful or crampy, just my tummy goes tight for a few seconds.

Anyone else had this? Is this normal? Or a sign that it's all about to go wrong?

TIA x

Not really that well informed and have no personal expereince as only 6.5 weeks with my first but could it be 'round ligament' stretching. I've read that is common at around your stage of things and into 2nd trimester? When the muscels at the base of the abdomen start to stretch to be ready to accommodate your growing baby.

Hope you get some more useful answers from those in the know

I wouldn't think they are braxton hicks because of the size and stage of development of your uterus. It is still tucked behind the pelvis at 10 weeks. I'm sure it is not a sign that things are about to go wrong at all, just one of those odd pregnancy things, or as ellabella says, ligaments stretching to accomodate the growing uterus.

Yes..had tightenings from very early on with dc3; from about 8 weeks, they progressively got stronger as the pregnancy went on. I think it's braxtons/ womb strengthening and tonifying. and with subsequent pregnancies you feel it more. I am now 10 weeks on #4 and having similar things.
