Looks like I have it - only tested with home monitor and need to get my midwife to arrange a glucose tolerance test but even more tired than normal and thirsty and after tea tonight my BM was 9.1

Am clueless about what to expect - anyone about who can tell me more?

What kind of things do you want to know? I had the GTT when I was pregnant in 2005, but that was because Im overweight, and they were pretty sure it would be positive, but it wasnt.
For that I had to have blood taken, drink a sugary syrupy drink that came in a small bottle, it was about 1 1/2 cupfuls, sat in another room, for , I think an hour, then go back for more bloods to be taken. I had to starve from night before.

But as I said it was negative, but my sil had gest diabetes and she had to watch her diet through the pregnancy, and monitor her blood sugar, but they did an C section on her about 3 weeks before the due date as Grace was big, she was 10lbs, but big babies are common in Gest Diabetes.
I dont know much more than that Im afraid.

Bms do go up after food. Although 9.1 is up its not huge. Have you tested before food when your stomach is empty? If its high then, that is a better indicator.

I'm having the GTT tomorrow - I feel all at sea about what to eat, whether I'll be able to have a normal birth, what will happen with breast feeding - just fear of the unknown really. I have had 2 normal pregnancies with normal deliveries but both overdue and the first was induced and the induction was horrible. Just feel a bit gutted.
