Low Dose Asprin in Pregnancy for recurrent m/c - when do I stop taking it?

I was told to take low-dose asprin from the day I got a positive test, but no-one told me when I could stop taking it.

I don't honestly think it is doing any good, my blood test results were vaguely borderline for a clotting issue, so since the doc's could think of nothing else to suggest they told me to take it. However I went on to have 3 more miscarriages while taking it.

This time I have got a bit further on in pregnancy and want to stop taking the asprin (as I have developed an asthma type wheeze) But I want to know when it is safe to stop taking it?

Any help gratefully recieved

Hi, i started taking it from when i got a positive result. The consultant I saw at 14 weeks told me to continue taking it until 34-36 weeks. Hope this helps.

I took it til 36 weeks. Worked for me after 4 miscarriages and 1 other pregnancy. Now have 5 DCs

I took it until 36 weeks. I was advised not to start taking it until we saw a heartbeat (at around 6-7 weeks).

I started taking it after 2 mc.

i took (and continue to take) it from the moment i got my BFP (after 3 MMC). My consultant has recommended i continue to take it until at least 34 weeks (150mg once per day). I am also taking 40mg low molecular weight heparin until 36 weeks.

The asprin is unlikley to do you any harm. I have not heard of a wheeze developing as a side effect. Personally i would continue to take it until advised to stop.

Good luck.
