Hen Weekend away at 32 weeks?

Ive been invited to a Hen weekend soon when ill be 32 week pregnant.
Its a spa weekend so wont be a wild one but its a couple of hours away.

My main concern is being away from DH is anything was to happen whilst away.
He is keen for me to go as this is number 2 and the break would do me good. Plus ive never been away from DD overnight since she was born 18mths ago and only had about 5 evenings out.

I do really want to go but part of me is feeling guilty at leaving DD and worried that something will happen whilst im there.

So opinions please, Good idea/bad idea?

I think you will have a lovely time and am really jealous. You can have mother to be massages etc and will make you feel fab.

I know it is hard leaving lo's if you are not used to it but second pregnancy are harder ( i am 37 weeks and have a 3.4 ds) and you deserve some pampering.

If you have had a trouble free pregnancy you probably will be okay to go at 32 weeks.

Go for it!

(Personally have turned down all hen nights but that is not cos of concern for the baby but because I find drunk people outrageously boring and cannot believe I used to be one.)

Thanks. I have now found out I am having twins, so it is totally out of the question.

i would go, i went for a spa hen do when i was about 33 weeks, though it was only for the day. will be nice for you to go away.

superbean · 17/02/2010 11:35

Definitely go!

midori1999- [Confused] Im the OP and def NOT having twins!
Congrats though!

Im now 27 weeks and have been fine so far. Thinking logically, DD was 2 weeks late so doubt anything would happen that early plus as DH has just pointed out. I should be more worried about the weekend away for thier wedding at 37 weeks! Very true- Although he will be with me so dont feel so bad about that one. (yet!!)

I would definitely go! It will be a long time before you get the chance to spend a day or weekend in a spa with a toddler and a newborn. Seize the chance for chill and pampering and female company while you can. At 32 weeks with a normal pregnancy you should have a safe long stretch before anything happens, and even if it does you're still only a couple of hours from home. I'm jealous and wish I had done something similar (am now 40 weeks plus one day waiting for DC2) Do it do it do it.

meant with a toddler and a newborn, comma, it will be a long time til you get another chance for spa chill. Obviously WITH a toddler and a newborn actually IN the spa, it's more like never.

Me too with the spa night away at 32 wks coming up..... so thanks for the positive vibes too, DH has been really twitchy about it but I am very keen to get in one last relax

14hourstillbedtime · 17/02/2010 20:13

Oh god, yes, go go go and get in all the pampering you can (I am now 31 weeks with DD, currently have DS, 2.5 - it's, um, tiring, isn't it?!)

Have fun, enjoy, and (dare I say?) have a glass of champagne while you are there!

I am going to a hen when I am going to be 34 weeks in Scotland (it's my first so slightly different situation). I was really undecided about it as worried about how far gone I will be. But now I CAN NOT WAIT as think it will be my last proper girly weekend before baba.

So I would say goooooooo!

PS My DH is worried about me being so far away (about 300 miles) so he is going to stay will relatives so he is nearer to me just in case, but not getting in the way of the hen action.
