am really curious as s-i-l had c-sec with her 1st, is now 19wks pg with her 2nd and says they are concerned she wont be able to deliver vaginally as her cervix is too small.

A)if she had a c-sec why/how would they know how big her cervix is?

B)how can they tell weather or not she can deliver normally if she has never gone through labour and how can they they how much the cervix will/wont stretch?

i have never heard of this, anyone know anything about it?

Blimey! Never heard of this either. Need a puzzled emoticon..

Actually you need Mears, let's hope she sees this.

Mears is on holiday.
Did they say her cervix was too small or her pelvis?
Is she in this country? Why did she have her first section?

her cervix. she had her first section because her blood pressure went right up(presumably pre ecampsia) and so tried to induce her, but babys heartbeat was irregualr/baby in distress so they did em c/sec at term.

Well either she misheard and they were talking about her pelvis OR there is info you don't have about her gynaecological history.
If they examined her and saw an abnormaility they might say this but it would be very rare and I have doubts about this...

could it be that her cervix was tilted?? (although don't know if that's grounds for a c-section)

Busy.... some women will be happy with any excuse for a section and as she would have a VBAC they might be happy to give her one...

I thought as much, thanks for the info
