I am so fed up feeling sick and exhausted - please tell me your "I felt great at 17 weeks" stories!

muddler Yes, I'm normally hoisting my judgey pants at the mere mention of McDonalds. I found myself in excited raptures at the realisation that my small-town Dutch McDonalds had received the "Manhatten make-over".

Repeat after me:

My body is a temple and I feed my baybee only the most nutricious of all the junk food.

muddler · 15/02/2010 12:02

My conversion came when I was walking down Oxford Street looking for a bottle of water and banana (honest) to snack on, not the easiest things to find on OS. Before I know it I had a double cheeseburger, fries and fizzy fanta down me in seconds flat.
I actively avoid walking past McDs now I just can't trust myself

At first I thought, Mmmm, crystallised ginger. Then you went and spoilt it all by mentioning McDonalds. Now I want a quarterpounder with cheese. All you lot with MS will be smirking smugly at me after the baby is out. I'll be the one wobbling as I walk!

skihorse · 15/02/2010 12:08

haha pandora Yes, it's like bulimia where you don't have to TRY! Eat the Mcdonalds and still no weight gain!

YanknCock · 15/02/2010 12:12

CocoPops and Taco Bell mentioned in same thread! that's not shock, that's me with mouth hanging open wishing I had either of those.

I'm not even pregnant anymore, I have no excuse. Eat ladies, eat! Do it for me! You baby will suck out whatever nutrients it needs, even from crap food.

Speaking of Homer Simpson....DS's baby walker plays 'When the Saints Go Marching In' and all morning I've been going around a la Homer singing 'Oh when the saints....go over there....oh when the saints go over there...oh I want to be in that rumba...'

bigmuther65 · 15/02/2010 12:55

Feeling crap at 15wks, this thread has really made me laugh thanks girls just what i needed

herbgirl17 · 15/02/2010 17:10

15+5 and still vomiting too, want to start enjoying this longed for pregnancy....have lost weight with all the vomiting and my stomach aches...

... normally quite a healthy eater but now just want to eat white bread and raisin toast! have found that crackers in the morning helps for the morning but not for any other time of day.

Bumperlicious · 16/02/2010 07:25

Oh God, I ate so many coco pops last time I thought I was going to give birth to one! I have moved on to Chocolate Cornflakes (unfortunately only Morrison's crappy ones as Kellogs don't sell them in this country any more). Just nmy first bowl of the day now.

It's the unpredictability that is so annoying (and expensive). Can tell from one day to the next what I will want, and having to eat in the canteen at work as I need a stodgy meal for lunch - getting expensive!

Anyone else waking up early feeling sick?

MrsDmamee · 16/02/2010 11:43

oh the flippin ginger biscuits comment drove
me crazy!!
i was still feeling rubbish at 16 weeks but i started perking up around 17 weeks now 21 weeks so ive almost forgotten those horrible MS weeks from 5-16

midwife told me "it could last until 20 weeks and have you tried GINGER!!!"

mind you she looks about 12 so i just rolled my eyes and nodded.

buffalo chicken really helped me, when i had it my whole mouth went numb so the rotten feeling and taste was gone temporarily

of course now heartburn has kicked in so i cant bear it anymore

muddler · 16/02/2010 11:45

So thanks to you lot, I find myself between meetings yesterday and instead of going for a nice peppermint tea somewhere, there I am in McDs inhaling a double cheeseburger. Felt really grubby all afternoon, like I had just received a text from Vernon Kay.......

oh ohhhh you're not going to like me...

was sick til about 18 weeks, and then had couple of weeks off "oooo I feel loovelyyyyyyyy" and then at 23 weeks, yep, it came and hit me again.

So here I am at 27 weeks STILL feeling fecking sick if I don't eat every hour, on the hour, with something so carby and bad for me. Orange fanta and Monster Munch anyone?

Think I must have done something bad and vomit related in a previous life

Only another 13 weeks to go...

DefNotYummyMummy · 16/02/2010 18:33

16 weeks here and still feel like a sack of shit. With DS1 16 weeks I felt better. With DD1 18 weeks. I think this is going to be a 20 week job (I hope so !). Hope it doesn't last throughout. Def feeling a little better, but I am on medication and it is such a gradual thing.

Def want to get sterilised after this one.

xxx

Bumperlicious · 16/02/2010 18:34

Let me quote you from the helpful badly photocopied sheet in the pack I've just been given from the doctor:

'Don't eat for two and overeat. Excess weight gain will increase the risk of problems later in the pregnancy and is always difficult to lose after the birth' Reassured yet? It goes on...
'Avoid sugary, starchy foods, cakes and eating between meals. If there is an increase in appetite then some of the less fattening foods like fruit and vegetables are preferable.'

There you go girls. Problem solved

muddler · 16/02/2010 18:36

We are all bad people
Scuttles off for another handful of AFter Eights

MarineIguana · 16/02/2010 18:42

I was you at 16 weeks OP - I was better by 12-13 weeks in my first pg, so this time when it went on longer i was terrified it would be the whole 9 months. But, from 16 weeks it started to tail off, and by 20 weeks it was gone. And hasn't come back (though I can't say I've "bloomed" )

Buckler · 18/02/2010 18:25

Totally agree 'ooh ginger really helped me' well good for bloody you!!! I'm nearly 17 weeks and it has slightly improved still get the odd bout mainly at night time. I've found mint aero bars help oh and frosties mm. Oh and boiled sweets or lollies. Hopefully we'll all reach the glowing stage soon and not the glowing from too much puking lol.

muddler · 21/02/2010 18:48

I hope I don't regret posting this.....but I haven't felt sick for days, in fact I have loads of energy and don't need After Eights or McDs to get through the day!
Fingers crossed for all of you too x

Oh the ginger pushers - what do they think it is? Some miracle drug?

I have had an awful 2 weeks with sickness where have been sick 10+ times a day and barely kept anything down losing another half stone to bring me up to 1.5 stone weight loss - am 15 weeks . I explained this to someone the other day and they suggested I nibble on a ginger biscuit or have a peppermint tea - because that will cure this wont it

xxkt1xx · 21/02/2010 19:29
