Hi

Im 39 weeks pregnant but have recently changed doctors and now my EDD is all up in the air!

History, mmc back in sept o8, no real periods before getting my bfp on the 6th of june 09

Had 2 days of bleeding/spotting on the 6th/7th may.

First scan on 2nd july showed 7+2
second scan 27th july showed 10+2
Third scan 6th aug showed 12+0
Fourth scan 3rd sept showed 14+5 to 16+6!

Im in dubai and the care is different here, nobody measures fundal height of feels tummy etc until i have changed doctor in the last two weeks. She says baby feels small...and after an internal she says im still weeks away

Being sent for another scan on monday but as she has nothing to go by it will be hard to determine growth since last scan.

So can anyone help me work out how far on i am, i dont want to go for induction if its too early but now im worried that im further on and nothing happening!

Thanks x

the baby should come when she ready and you should have a feeling when ready

Sorry, can't help, but seems odd. Have you tried to work it out yourself? People generally seem to be right about their own due dates, so maybe just go with what you think?

Oh eck, I think you might get a nice surprise one day in the next couple of weeks!

Noone can tell you when the baby is due, but it is known that very early scans can be out by up to two weeks if a person has a tilted uterus and that scans after 13 weeks are very unreliable due to babies growing at different rates. My best guess for you would be to go by the scan you had at 12 weeks as this is most likely to be accurate out of each of them. Therefore you are due today!!!!!!

However due dates are only an estimate and babies are still considered within the normal range plus or minus two weeks of the estimated due date.

Your current doctor cannot say your baby "feels" small therefore you are weeks away, feeling the baby is not a way of saying when the baby will arrive.

The best advise is to ask for a scan to look at the placenta function in a week or two, (if the baby has not made an appearance by then), if the baby and placenta function looks well on the scan, then you can wait a bit longer as you are not certain of your dates before facing induction. Placental function is more important than growth at this stage.

I hope you have a wonderful birth when-ever it happens!

Thankyou all, especially rainbowdays

So i could be anything thing from 38+3 to 41+1....Im not too worried about when the baby will arrive, more agreeing with the doctor about an edd because here in Dubai they only let you go so far over, dont want to be induced too early nor do i want to go over the recommended time given.
