I think everything should be fine but I'm 40+7 today and the midwife came out to do a stretch and sweep - I'm unfavourable apparently (and completly effaced?).

However on and off throughout the pregnancy it's been mentioned the baby is small. (I'm very 'neat' according to most non-HCP). I have been eating well - have been asked more than once wether I am.

Baby was measured by consultant 04/01 as 36 weeks which was bang on. This MW says baby is still measuring 36 weeks - bump hasn't grown much but it has grown some - I know people have been commenting on it. If she hadn't been very late she would have had me go for scan today - but she didn't get here till gone 5, she wants me to go to the hospital tomorrow morning.

Could this really be a problem? Heartbeat is really strong and always has been and baby is moving about normally.

I'm remaining calm but I get the feeling I could turn into paranoid hormonal 1st time mum if I'm not careful.

Almost certainly everything is fine .
I would guess that she probably just wants you to go in to check your fluid levels as these start to decline slightly after 40 weeks. If they are a bit lower than average this could make your bump a bit smaller. If they get too low they might suggest an early induction.

Main thing to remember is that fundal height measuring and baby guesstimtaing is very inexact, I was given 3 different measurements by 3 different HCPs in one day!

As long as heartbeat is strong and baby is moving about I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just try to get some sleep and pop in in the morning for a check
