I was told before christmas there was a big backlog, but some people are saying it has cleared now? How long did it take yours to come through? I posted mine 11 days ago. Thanks in advance

i posted mine off on the 27th Jan, not heard anything yet...

thedollshouse · 08/02/2010 11:57

I posted mine on the 19th January and received a letter on Saturday stating that it will be paid into my bank account within the next 7 days.

asparagusaddict · 08/02/2010 17:13

oooh, an update!!! just checked the 'pending transactions' on my bank account and it says the HIP grant is due to go into my account tomorrow, so that's 13 days from when I posted my form

Morloth · 08/02/2010 17:16

I got rejected, sniff.

They did however reject me pretty quickly, applied on 18th December and had a response by early Jan.

Missus84 · 08/02/2010 17:19

Why were you rejected Morloth? I thought everyone got it.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 08/02/2010 17:20

HIP grant is like CB - everyone gets it - how were you rejected? Are you thinking of Maternity Grant?

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 08/02/2010 17:22

Thanks asparagus, and everyone else! I called earlier, they said they would be sending me out a letter today and that the money should be with me around 7 days after that - unsure if they meant working days though.

On other forums I've read that often the money comes out before the letter gets to you, so do check your banks, if you're waiting!

Agreed Morloth, you shouldn't have been rejected for the HIP grant if you're 25 weeks or more pregnant, and in this country... are you sure you're talking about the HIP grant?

Hello, I posted my forms off in mid November 2009 and have still not received the grant.
As it happens, I got a letter from them just last week asking for the name of the 'healthcare professional' who had completed the form. I called them up and after a long conversation, they mentioned that my due date had been left off the form. Now, I am 95% sure it was NOT left off, because I checked the form before sending it (I am a lawyer - it's instinctive).
They're now contacting the midwifery team via my GP, which will take, oooh, months, I expect. It will be my 'new clothes after giving birth' grant at this rate (due in three weeks).
Anyway, don't hold your breath!!

Morloth · 08/02/2010 19:01

Yup, Health in Pregnancy Grant. We are on Ancestry Visas and this comes under "Public Funds" apparently, which we are not entitled to.

I assumed this would be the case but the midwife seemed to think it would be OK.

I posted my form off about 2 weeks ago and received a letter 2 days ago, funds were already in my account
