What is 'normal' for 14 weeks?

I am 14 weeks pregnant and wondering if things are still OK with the baby. Basically I have had practically no symptoms for the pregnancy so far (sore boobs, tiredness but no 'big' symptoms). I had my scan at 11+3 and all was well.

I am now 14 weeks. My boobs are still a bit sore but what concerns me is my tummy. For the past 2 weeks it felt very tight and stretchy...all good. I also had ligament pain which, although annoying, reassured me somewhat. Then about 5 days ago I had aches and pains for about 2 days (no bleeding, no cramps) then a pain developed in my right groin...it was very tender on and off and really hurt if I coughed or sneezed. It seems to have got better now.

But for the past few days my tummy feels less tight and stretchy and I feel much better in myself. I don't know if this is normal for the second trimester or if is a sign that the baby has stopped growing. My next doctors appointment is in a fortnight.

I don't know if I'm being completely paranoid or if it is worth going to the doctors (no scan there but she has a doppler) to ask advice. I think if I told all this to friends in RL I will just sound paranoid to them (none of them have DCs) so wanted to ask the advice of MN!

I would go to the Drs if I were you. Not because I think there is anything wrong but just to settle your mind. They should be able to hear the heartbeat at 14 weeks and that will reassure you. Just mention the pains (which I am sure may be just the uterus moving up?) and the fact you're worried. I have had very odd aches and pains with this preg (4th) that I've not had with the others and we all feel things differently.

You really don't need to be stressed out for the next two weeks and I'm sure your GP won't mind spending 5 mins to ease your mind!!

Hear hear bigmomma3, OP go to the gp that's what they're there for. Hear that little heart beat and feel instantly better. I'm sure all is fine, nothing in your post made me think anything other than all is probably normal.

Thanks for the advice ladies! I went to the doctors today and heard the heartbeat through the doppler! The doctor said it can be normal to have bad pains which suddenly stop but that it is always worth checking out! So relieved!!

I'm also wondering whats supposed to be normal! (14+3) I went to the doctor Friday (13+6 then) because I had pains across my stomach and they had been there constantly for a couple of days and had v v slight spotting - (literally hardly anything in reality, but enough to make me overreact and panic).

Anyway Doc told me everything was fine but that I was possibly doing too much on top of growing stretching type pains. Had Friday off to rest and pains eased over weekend. However one day back in work yesterday and pains were as bad by the end of the day.

I just can't wait for half term next week and a week off, work is really full on at the moment, and working in a special school its really hard to 'take it easy'. I'm just constantly shattered!

and when does the "blooming" bit of pregnancy I keep being told about start?!

Caz - there are many variations of 'normal' in pregnancy as I've found out with this one! This is my 4th and totally different to the other 3 so I feel like a complete novice again .

I am almost 17 weeks and have never felt so tired and headachey and sick as this time. Also out of breath just walking the DCs to school. I think that you can definitely overdue it and strain yourself and we are always told pregnancy is not an 'illness' but it does'nt hurt to take it easy. The You never know next week you could feel great!

I am still not blooming - even have terrible dandruff .

Haha, maybe I've just developed an aversion to work! A week of lie ins will make me feel great I'm sure, and then I remind myself that as of August anything past 7am will feel like a lie in and how will I ever cope without them!! lol!
