Showing at 5 weeks????

It cant be possible to have a bump at 5 weeks can it? I am 5+1 and already I look huge and I physically cant breath in! Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be water retention or bloating from excess wind? I keep think there may be 2 in there as twins run on both sides of my family and have skipped a generation on both sides! I have my first midwife appointment on Wednesday. I look like my sister did when she was 4/5 months gone!

it is bloat/wind rather than baby though both are equally uncomfortable. It is caused by hormones slowing down your intestines and making you retain water.

Even if it was twins you wouldnt show yet. Your uterus is still firmly below your pelvic bone and will be for a good few weeks yet.

Thanks it's just today my close friend who I have told about the pregnancy said I look huge and told me not to try to breath in! My size 10's are straining!!!!

I showed at 5 weeks and was convinced there were 2 in there (I was a twin and have twin aunts). There weren't - but there were a load of fibroids which were making me look further along than I was

It's bloating and water retention from sluggish digestive process usually or in cases like tsm, can be related to other gynae things. I showed very early with dd, could only get into maternity clothes from 11 weeks and was obviously pregnant. Definitely not twins.

I showed at 5 weeks with this one - number2.

With DD I showed quite early too. Ive put it down to bloating as it does seem to even out in the end.
