Oh I look FAT too. Its ridiculous. I am 13 weeks and its even more noticeable because I have lost a stone from everywhere else so my trousers are baggy on my legs but my stomach just looks fat.

Its like the baby has pushed up any organs / fat higher up my stomach and it just looks silly. I'm sure its more obvious to me than anyone else but whinge!

MumNWLondon · 05/02/2010 12:45

I am 29 weeks and I FINALLY look pregnant and not fat, just this week.

Have looked fat since around 15 weeks. This is DC3.

violetbubbles · 05/02/2010 12:46

I'm almost 19 weeks and my colleague said to me the other day that I didn't look pregnant yet; looked more like I'd let myself go over Xmas!!!! Charming, eh? .

Alicetheinvisible · 05/02/2010 12:48

I am nearly 13wks and just look like i have a beer gut

tjtheminx · 06/02/2010 14:08

Good to know I'm not the only one!!
peppa I've got the organs pushed up thing going on too. I do look v pg at night time but a closer look reveals tis all guts and very little baby!

MumNWL 29 weeks!! another 11 weeks to go. I do remember the last time when I switched to mat clothes I looked more pg. My jeans wer too tight yesterday so might try mat ones today ( they fell off two weeks ago)

2 of my friends are due in June/July too and both look blooming. That is also doing my head in! Esp when work colleagues kind of looking at me sideways and I know they are thinking --- oooh letting herself go..

violet charming![hmmm]

I'm 20 weeks with DC1 today and haven't put any weight on but look like I have had waaay too many big dinners! I'm praying it ends soon!

Heathcliffscathy · 06/02/2010 14:38

yup. 13 weeks and fat not preg here.

2babesmum · 06/02/2010 18:28

My baby's growing on my hips and bum!

Alicetheinvisible · 06/02/2010 18:41

Hopefully look more bump soon, found out at scan that i am nearly 14wks instead of 13 (that week makes a difference ) My advice is to wear clingy clothes

del1 · 06/02/2010 19:36

I didn't look pregnant with my first untill nearly 6 months, but . . .I am now 20 wks, and have had a huge stomach for the past week! when I stand up it is really hard, but i bend over, or lie down, if feels and looks flabby! what is that all about?
Don't feel comfortable wearing fitted clothes yet, as don't think i look pregnant yet. don't want to wish away the time either, but it will be nice when i can wear a fitted top, and feel like i'm not hiding pies in there!! lo

Catla · 06/02/2010 20:23

definitey got the fat feeling - I had a lovely neat bump last time and this time, 13 months after DD born, it just looks like I haven't managed to lose my baby weight - no fitted tops here, just layers and hiding - but then arms, bum, thighs etc are all bigger too so I'm sure it is more fat than baby in reality :-( 17 weeks today! xx

BusyMissIzzy · 07/02/2010 12:23

I looked fat till about 21/22 weeks, then bump seemed to pop out of nowhere. Now I'm 36 weeks and look pegnant and fat

Monstermuncher · 07/02/2010 14:55

9.5 weeks and bursting out of my jeans and bras. Does anyone know if those bump bands are any good? Managed last time with pretty much normal clothes on top half but maternity bottoms but have a feeling I am going to mahoosive very quickly ..

tjtheminx · 07/02/2010 16:03

Belly bands are only OK, IMO.

They don't really work as advertised (not on my gut anyhow) They certainly don't smooth out the top button of your jeans when that's open. And they tend to roll down.

Yesterday I wore maternity jeans for the first time (in public anyhow) They looked a bit ridiculous as what bump I have is higher up than the "waistband" of the mat jeans. So I put a belly band there and it didn't look too bad.

My bump seems to be about to pop so maybe won't be too long more.Feeling this one's going to mahoosive too MM

I'm in america... no MonsterMunches here. Am salivating at the thought...

I NEVER looked pregnant and I went 2 weeks overdue- I am jealous of all you people looking pregnant at only a few weeks!!

tjtheminx · 07/02/2010 16:10

NEVER?

OP posts:
debka · 07/02/2010 17:09

my mum said i did in the last few weeks but then after i had my (8lb10oz) baby she said she lied so i'd feel better.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 07/02/2010 17:54

Same here Debka, no-one knew when I was 40+5! Being lardy already they just thought it was, well, extra lard. I'm here again, 26 weeks, feeling huge and crappy, and nobody realises. I'm so depressed about it today.

tjtheminx · 07/02/2010 19:02

Debka and James, that's amazing!

I wouldn't be depressed about it James. Although I can see how you could get down.Look on the bright side you're not going to get any creepy people coming up to touch your bump

OP posts:
debka · 07/02/2010 19:51

I feel your pain, James! I just was a fat stomached fat person rather than an all-over generously proportioned person!

MumNWLondon · 08/02/2010 11:04

Well with a coat on I don't look pregnant, just fat and and I was not lardy before, am 30 weeks - have neat bump that doesn't stick out that much (due to very tight/strong stomach muscles) but have put weight on bum, thighs etc.

Waiting for the day when someone gives me a seat on tube, maybe I need to undo coat.

Was in gym on sunday wearing baggy t-shirt and instructor asked if I wanted to do powerplate class - I asked if ok as I am pregnant, she said she hasn't noticed!

I did do the class and was fitter than the other people doing it though although opted out of some of the exercises.

Ziggurat · 08/02/2010 11:28

I am 14 weeks and look and feel like a carthorse, rather than pregnant. It's not pretty.
