How much weight gain at 25 weeks?

I'm just wondering what a kind of average weight gain is at 25 weeks? I gained lots in my first pg so was being pretty careful this time around and then christmas happened and I've found it really hard to stop eating sweet stuff since.

I've gained about a stone so far, still a long way to go...

Also, when you all talk about how much you gained in pg, do you mean after you had the baby?? Cos the baby+fluid+placenta (full term) is about a stone isn't it?

Hi, this is my first pregnancy and I am 18 weeks so dont have a great deal of experience but I am keen to make sure I give the baby enough nutrition and not worry too much about what I eat but I don't want to put on too much either.

I also have a sweet tooth for chocolate and loving crisps too, prior to being pregnant I was strict with myself about this but now this has gone out of the window! Each time I do indulge I try to have a piece of fruit at same time though!

So at 18 weeks I have put on 9lbs (was 9st 13lbs before) so pretty sure I will at least reach 1st by 25 weeks which I think will be ok.

Also I have always presumed that when people say they put on 3 stone then one stone was baby, placenta ect and 2 stone was the extra fat you need for breast feeding ect.

Hope this helps a little and interested to hear other peoples views as all my pregnancy books seem to contradict each other!

2 or 3 stones is fine, depending on your pre-pg weight.

I am pg with number 2 and at 23 weeks have put on just short of a stone, despite having had hyperemisis during the first trimester.

I kept off the scales with number 1, so have no idea what I weighed. By the time he was 1 though I was lighter than before I was pregnant - all the running around.

In short, forget it!

Hi - I have put on just over a stone at 25 weeks. Don't know if this is right or not, but have next midwife check tomorrow. It feels about right to me, but I know nothing!

I'm 25+3 and have put on about 1stone, 3pounds (was 8.5stone pre pregnancy) though I haven't had a continious amount of weight gain each week. Between about 19-23 weeks I stayed exactly the same weight, but the past fortnight or so I seem to have put on 3 pounds. Have you looked at BabyCorner? (Not sure the exact website but just put it into google). It takes your height and weight measurements pre-pregnancy and gives you a guide of a healthy weight gain for you

Oh that's reassuring! I ballooned lst time which really wasn't healthy and I think it really affected the latter stages and labour so I'm trying to eat well but it's so hard to know how I'm doing with an expanding belly

I's also 25 weeks and too scared to get on the scales! think it's at least a stone.I put on 3 stone with my 1st baby but lost 2 of those quite quickly after.Sadly I put some on thanks to post baby cake.

With my first I put on 5stone..
2nd 4stone
3rd 3.5stone
currently 38+5weeks pg just under 2 stone..

I'm 25+5 and was weighed at my midwife appointment yesterday and have put on 5kg (11 pounds).

Ladypop This is what it says in What To Expect:

Baby - 7 1/2 lbs
Placenta- 1 1/2 lbs
Aminotic Fluid- 2 pounds
Uterine Enlargement - 2 Pounds
Breast Tissue - 2 pounds
Blood Volume - 4 pounds
Fluids in Maternal tissue- 4 pounds
Maternal Fat stores - 7 pounds

That's about 30 pounds (2.14 stone) or 13.6 kg.

Im 30 weeks and at my midwife app yesterday i found out ive put on 7lbs, i was expecting it to have been a bit more as ive been pigging out quite a bit!

14hourstillbedtime · 04/02/2010 16:51

At 29 weeks I've put on 17 pounds and feel mostly OK about it. First preg, it was 22 pounds total whole preg (but I lost 6 pounds in the first trimester, so put all that back on, and then the 22 pounds, IFSWIM?)

Here in the States they like to beef you up good and proper and I'm actually one pound under what I'm supposed to be at this stage of preg!

Personally, I can't see what good my much-chubbier-than-before-preg thighs are going to do for the baby, but there you go....
