I went for a wee half an hour ago and there was some red blood when I wiped........wiped 4 or 5 more times and got smears of red blood. Have put a pad on and a couple of smears on that too. I know some bleeding in pregnanacy is normal but haven't had it before.......do you think I should get it checked or am I overreacting?

you absolutely must be checked, it is probably nothing sinister but fresh red blood needs medical attention. do call labour ward and in get a MWs opinion, you might be asked to go in for some monitoring

As far as I know you should always get bleeding checked out whatever stage in pregnancy you are.

Try not to worry but do get it checked out. All the best.

Hiya, just a thought - but are you absolutely sure the red blood is from your vagina or could it be after a number 2? (i.e anal fissure?) .....nethertheless, even if you are not sure - you should call the Delivery suite now if you can't get hold of your midwife - they may just want to check everything is ok. Good luck.
